Wait! I didn’t tell you the one about the frog that tries to cross the street!"

-Nick Swedson on what things are going to be like when we get old.

Good day to all.  How was everyone’s weekend?  Marie and I went to the new theater that opened up by the mall.  Its a nice place, done in a kind of old theater style.  We saw Ultraviolet.  Honestly because there wasn’t anything else to see at that time.  It was an eye candy movie though, lots of gun and sword fights, explosions, that sort of thing.  The acting was only okay throughout, in a few places even horrible.  But it was an entertaining movie.  After that we walked down to the mall and looked around there for awhile.  I managed to find a shirt while I was there.  I still have the hardest time shoping for clothes.  Alot of the guy’s clothes out there come with ready-made holes, fraying, rips, tears, fading, wrinkles.  Its like the newest fashion to look like crap.

That bring up something I read recently though.  It was in GQ, one of the writers was talking about how there was no glamour in Hollywood men anymore.  When you see them at premieres and movie events and on set they’re dressed to kill and the like.  But their everyday styles are god-awful.  They look like crap.  The author acknowledged that they might be doing it on purpose so they won’t be recognized, but on the other hand, if they are recognized it just makes them stick out that much more.  For instance they showed pictures of Paul Newman, Cary Grant, and Jimmy Stewart out in public, dressed nicely, if not formally.  I just think that fashion has taken a wrong turn somewhere and its hard to find things that are truly fashionable out there.

On to other things though.  I had a french test today.  I think I failed it, I just let too many blanks on the exam to possibly have passed it.  This coming week is spring break and I’m just going to have to sit down with the book and figure it out.  I don’t have much of a choice otherwise.  Other plans have fallen though regarding spring break, so I’m not going to be doing much.  I wasn’t too happy to say the least, but that’s just the way things happen.

I had a thought recently that I wanted some opinions on.  Here’s the deal.  Marie has this friend, who we’ll call Jane, mostly cause I keep forgetting her real name anyway.  Anyway, last semester (I think, or maybe two semesters past) Marie, Jane, and I got into a conversation during finals week, just passing the time.  During the conversation I enlightened her to some basic facts that are true of most men, including myself.  At the time she didn’t believe me and swore her own boyfriend wasn’t like that.  Anyway, until the end of that semester we were friendly enough, we’d see each in the halls and say hi, that sort of thing.  This semester though, its like she’s avoiding me.  Even avoiding looking at me in the halls.  Its a little weird.  But then I also found out that she broke up with her boyfriend.  No, I don’t think I was the cause of it.  As far as I understand they were having problems before.  But my thought is that they were having problems and then at some point she asked him about those little facts that I clued her in to.  And she probably got the answer she did not want.  So, I’ve now enlightened her to some knowledge of men that she probably didn’t want to know.  So she hates me now.  That’s what I think.  Marie says that Jane doesn’t hate me.  But then I remembered my teenage television show dictiums.  If she doesn’t hate me and she’s avoiding me and the like, it only means one thing, at least according to teenage television.  She didn’t like me at first, but finds herself attracted to me nonetheless.  Which is a little weird, especially as I’m not attracted to her and she hangs out with a completely different sort of people.  So, here’s where I ask everyone else’s opinion.  You now know the story, which do you think it is?

Also, while at the mall Marie and I went into Victoria’s Secret.  And I end up running into an old friend from middle school, who we’ll call Angie.  It was kind of humorous though, as I found out she works there.  We asked how each other it is and what one another is up to, you know small talk.  It was just kind of funny because she seemed almost embarassed that I found out she’s working there.  I don’t know why, but maybe its just me.  I know Krillen had a crush on her, then again all of us did back then, hehe.  I told him that she works there, who knows, maybe they’ll hook up, but I’ve never been good at matchmaker.  Anyway, I think that’s the extent of my thoughts for the day.  Good eve to all.

-Damien

Hey, thanks for the support 🙂 I’m sure you did fine on your French test 🙂 And if that Jane girl hates you because you spoke the truth about guys, she is pretty anal. Cheerio 🙂

*Points up* I have to agree with Wisa here… I think she likes you. Maybe there’s also a twinge of embarass, ent over the whole my friend’s bf knew my bf’s mind better than I, as well – not that you’d say “told ya so” or anything like that. Sorry the plans fell through. 🙁

I think she realzied what you said was true and the break up occured. I doubt she hates you, but that perhaps she does find herself drawn to you adn she’s embarrassed because you’re her friend’s guy and it wouldn’t be fair of her to take you away. Just treat it as if you’re still friends, try and get her to open up, maybe she doesn’t like you and she’s jsut embarrassed becausr you were right…

letters n’ shit, yo?? Oh, dear. I want to throw up now. *chuckles* Bah.

March 6, 2006

hmmm… I think she might be a bit confused right now and it is quite possible that she has a crush on you. Just give her her space. And thanks for offering me an ear to talk to. I appreciate it. But you know how it is. Sometimes you just want to hear your friends’ voices every one and a while and talk girl talk. Well, see you later. I’m gonna go to bed now. Tschüß!

LOL @ the Microsoft Word Chrome Edition… and as to the girl situation, I’d say she’s probably just a little embarrassed that you were right about the guy situation. *shrugs* You won’t know unless you ask her though. <3

Oh, she definately wants you. It’s so very Pacey and Joey, isn’t it? I’d offer my services in the French dept., but I’m afraid I’m only good at the accent. Not the actual words and rules of grammer. Oh, and yeah, I totally agree with the GQ article. It’s not just the men either, I mean have you seen Julia Roberts lately? =)
