Of Tradition and Other Things
I went through the ceremony of Confirmation today. For anyone that doesn’t know what that is…in the Catholic faith, you go through three regular rites as a practicing Catholic. Baptism usually happens when you’re a baby, original sin is washed away from you and you are brought into the faith. Usually when you’re a child, you go through 1st Holy Communion, where you are able to partake of the regular rites of mass, recieving the host and the wine, that sort of thing. Then, when you get older you go through Confirmation. This is where you are brought fully into the faith, learning your faith, how it is praticed and the like. Once you are confirmed you are able to partake fully of the rites of the faith, including becoming a priest, getting married, being a sponsor to someone else getting Confirmed and the like. Yet, I really felt I got nothing out of these classes or this ceremony that I didn’t already have. I only took this class for two main reasons. First, if I didn’t I would have been hounded by my mother for it. Second, if I decide to get married through the church, I’ve already gone through the necessary rites for it, which makes things a whole lot easier.
So, after this event we went out to eat and then to the movies. I saw “The Day After Tomorrow” and it was pretty good. It makes me think that I should start on a story that I’ve had an idea on for years, but never written down. We’ll see. I start school in a couple of days. I’m not really looking forward to it, but it’s necessary, so off I go. I’m thinking about submitting a resume to B&N. I found out that someone from one of my classes this spring works there and he said I could put him down as a reference. So, we’ll see how that goes. There’s not much else for now. Good day to all.

Good luck with the application. Have you considered Borders, as well? They pay pretty well and are usually good about students’ schedules, as well. I’m glad the confirmation went well. Hope you’re doing well. Take care, hon.
