Dimensional Reality: Oz (Chapter 9)

Dorothy awoke feeling warm and comfortable.  She turned on her side, thinking about how she had, had the worst nightmare ever.  She started to roll on her side and a deep flash of pain shot through her leg. She opened her eyes and sat up.  She looked around her bewildered.  She was in a forest clearing, she was covered in the man’s cloak.  Her clothes hung on a rope suspended between two treees.  A small, smokeless fire of green flames burned under her clothes which looked much cleaner, yet damp and a little ragged.  Another fire, of blue flame, burned closer to her with a small pot hung over it.  Something that looked like stew bubbled enticenly in the pot.  She pulled the cloak closer around her body as she continued looking around the makeshift camp.  At first glance she thought the man had left her alone here, but after a closer look around she saw a posted guard of a sort.  Sitting nearby was a bird the size of a medium sized dog.  But it was a bird unlike any she had ever seen.  It had vibrant red and gold feathers that shimmered like flame, even in the shadow it sat.  The bird gazed back at her for a few moments, then returned to looking around the forest.  She looked at the bird for a little while more then turned to looking around the camp.  She was just wondering if she could help herself to some of the stew without burning her fingers, when, without sound, the man emerged from the trees.

You enjoy cliffhangers, don’t you? 😛 And no. *smirks* . RYN: Thank you for your kind note, friend. It was very much appreciated. I agree with you.

I like very much… I enjoy new takes on old stories. Ryn… I can fly, I can fly, I can fly. Hurray
