May the Lord bless thee
And keep thee
May He shine his countance upon thee
And give thee peace.
It rained last night. Tears from heaven I whispered. Last night I said good bye to one of the most beautiful creatures I’ve ever seen. Our dog died last night. Many times we forget just how much a part of our lives, of the family our pets are. That is, until they are gone. She seemed to be better yesterday, but to no avail. She started going into convoltions late last night. We had run out of options by this time. There was nothing else the vet could do for her. So we stood around her, our hands on her and said good bye as she slipped into a deep and final rest. She was a german shepard, pure bred. She was a beautiful dog. She had deep dark eyes, a soft and shining coat. She was graceful and lithe in her movements. She could jump higher than my head. She was a fierce protector of the house, but loved to have her belly scratched. She loved chicken and turkey can food and the red biscuits. If you saw her lying a certain way, she almost looked like a doe, her coat was that beautiful. She was a friend, a comfort, and a protector of this family. Our other outside dog knows something is wrong, that she can’t find her sister. May God give you peace. Many religions believe that animals have no soul, but it is times like this that one calls that seriously into doubt. Good bye gentle protector, good bye Sinaloa.
