Another Soul’s Gone Home…

Poorman’s Copyright 1999

*Lights single candle in dark forest, looks into distance and starts strumming guitar softly*

She comes again in

My dreams, soft angel wings

I wake up naked in

The bright morning light

I feel weak and tired

And another soul’s gone home

Early day and winter’s the season

Dress in black and hold a rose in your hand

Whispered words & hugs from a stranger

I say “thank you” & cross myself 3 times

And another soul’s gone home.

The wind blows cold and shadows go north

I kiss a forehead cold and a tear drips down

Sing “Ave Maria” as the Honor Guard walks by

Lights flash and visions pass by

And another soul’s gone home

A kiss and say an “Amen”

I walk in a darkness shadowed by light

I feel weary as they are consoled

I say good night and fall away

And I wish I could go

home…

*Last chord fades out, blows out candle to dark*

Quite profound.. Touching.

*Wow* That’s all I can say…

Beautiful… Where are you at? Hopefully you are safe. Take care…

Thank you for your notes. I love this entry. I assume you wrote this? If you did, I am extremely jealous for I have no writing abilities what-so-ever! 🙂
