The Phantom of the Maestro Is There…
…Inside My Mind.
If you have noticed, Maestro hasn’t been making as many appearances as he used to. His existence has been becoming less…well, existent! And as you all know, he is our Hero…our superfluous hero, but a hero nonetheless. Well, he used to be anyway.
But lately his life has been more grim. He has been more depressed…and he is not quite the hero he once was. He hides in his home, with his tormented mind as his only company. Maestro once composed his life happily, as any maestro should. But now it is composed with dismay. Maestro is no more, all that remains is but a phantom of his former self.
That’s right. You are now delving into the adventures of the Phantom of the Maestro. Granted its not original in any way, but it matches our Hero’s current mood. Or should I say our Anti-hero. But anyway, tis beside the point.
So it is dreary Tuesday night and the Phantom is not particularly happy. But you knew that. Certainly the weather hasn’t been helping his mood any. (Here in Erie there is usually a few feet of snow on the ground at this point. Lately the temperature has been getting up to 60 degrees, so Erie is covered with melted dirty snow and rain – not fun.) However, those things aside, our Anti-hero did have something positive happen today.
It’s no Don Juan, but the Phantom will be appearing in Brigadoon this March. Now, originally he wasn’t too thrilled about the role he was given. It seemed he only had one line and only appeared in one scene. Well, he still only appears in one scene, but as it turns out he actually has a fair amount of lines. And on top of that, the Phantom will also play a random villager in the remainder of the musical. And that means he has more to do thourghout the performance, which is good. Sure it’s more work, but the Phantom loves the theatre…as I am sure you already knew.
Aside from that, it was a fairly bland day. As you can guess, our Anti-hero was not all that happy to return to school. So now that he has, he isn’t incredibly…enthusiastic, perhaps? Of course, upon looking at the Phantom’s current grades, let us all hope his enthusiasm returns very soon! The Phantom has many other things on his mind, but for now I would rather not touch upon them. So until I actually do save the world from my own abysmal mind…
The Universe Can Wait
March what March what March what? Also, when is a good day for me to come? Furthermore, be happy!

I am honored, good Opera Ghost, that I should have the opportunity to recieve several letters of the most amiable nature from your person. When one speaks, purpose is given by those who listen. -E.M.

And so, dear O.G, I went and saw the Phantom of the Opera movie. It was almost as magical as the live production, especially since Emmy Rossum graced the screen as Christine. If Gerard Butler was able to sing as well as the rest of the cast, I think the movie would’ve been flawless. However, I give the man tremendous credit for his acting skills. He had me crying my eyes out.

Movie review aside, I’ve been meaning to ask…have you seen the live preformance? I get the feeling that you have…I certainly hope so. I also certainly hope that your spirits brighten. You often talk about “other things” being on your mind, but not wanting to share them here. And that makes me think…that must be a heavy burden.
