Checking-In
Its been about a week or so since I last wrote. Obviously I’ve been around… just haven’t had much to speak of on my end of the friendship. That mirrors in-person interaction; I’m mostly quiet and just rather listen to you.
– Worked on the yard during the weekend. We made a lot of progress with the addition of reciprocating saws to our arsenal. I look at all these wooded areas and see blackberries and I am angered to a degree. I’d love to be paid to cut all that stuff down throughout the area and not just in our yard.
– I love driving the Saturn, which we’ve dubbed the "Black Widow." This is largely based on my 95 Camaro being called "The Mistress in Red." That was a play off "The lady in the red dress." I enjoy driving small cars. They’re quick, efficient, and easy to maneuver. I feel safer being able to respond quickly than being encased in a couple, few tons of steel. I’ve taken to calling the Subaru "the Tank" because it drives a lot heavier than the Saturn.
– Twin locked down a new job that’s within 2 miles of the house, so now I’m commuting to Seattle on my own after Labor Day weekend. I’m not thrilled about that, but I will manage. I have to negotiate for some keys into the building, and try to push for access into the parking garage. I hope that after I finish this project, they’ll let me go and that being the reason why they haven’t given me keys in the 6 months I’ve been here. I have applied to a couple of jobs. Twin is a little more marketable than me, so she had no problem in finding work.
– Also because of that, schooling is still consuming a large part of my thoughts. The best route would be to just talk to an advisor or counsellor regarding my interests. I could juse a non-biased person to bounce thoughts off of and help inform me of different pathways or just offer up a different perspective. That may be something I can’t help myself with because my lofty and aloof intellect.
– We are moving all of our stuff this Saturday. The contractors will be done then. BGem, BSco, and CapChef have followed through on their offer to help. Although we are starting early, Twin said that people could join in at any time. In the morning it will be doughnuts, and in the evening it will be pizza and beer. Twin seems to think it will take hours to load and then unload the moving truck; I don’t think it will. I hope everyone does stop by and helps a little bit at some point in time; it’d be good to catch up. If not, the party should be in a couple of weeks.
– We are also getting new kitchen stuff from the money we financed to help with rennovations. IKEA had their 20% off kitchen sale, which included appliances… so we came out of that with only having to pay $300 or so out of pocket instead of $5,200 or so.
Good luck with moving! We got luck yand had quite a few people help us when we moved into our house, so I hope all of your people come through for you too. I still wanna see pictures!!

Noting from my phone and it doesn’t allow me to see your entry while I note so I’m hoping I don’t forget anything… Hope the moving goes smoothly. It’s great that so many of y’alls friends will be helping out. Hopefully it will be fun as well as productive that way. I think it’s awesome that you and Twin have been putting so much energy and attention into the new house. Shows how much you both really care about making it your HOME together. I love small cars. Will not drive anything else. Sorry that y’alls Labor Day plans got messed up. That sucks. :/ Sometimes we need this place to write about ourselves. Sometimes we just feel more like reading and writing to others. *shrugs* It’s all good. Hope you have a great weekend. Take good care.

Damnit… I did forget something. Freakin’ knew that would happen… Talking to a college advisor or counselor about your interests and what degree program might be best for you would be a great idea. I really hope you do it.

Great score at IKEA! Sounds like life is moving along swimmingly. RE: Yes, no game will ever be the same with out the original Husky Stadium. =( But, I am excited to have something to finally watch on TV… since I unwillingly pay or cable.

RE: Should be doing the training myself. Jonathan might help some- but he’s terrible about it. Haha. I’ve had the same breed of dog 2x before and know what to be aware of. I’ve also gotten very good at training abused/neglected dogs (I dog sit often). I am fully confident in my training with her. Shibas really are a perfect dog for somebody that likes an independent dog. =)
