Pictures! from Water, to Mountains, to Wounds.
February 3rd, 2012
This was the day I was "sick," but really it was a tension headache that had lingered for the week while I was at Amazon (from being bored to tears). Paddling was a good cure. It was obviously a little chilly, but great out on the water with very little boat traffic.
Looking East more or less, along the UW Campus.
I paddled out probably 100-200 yards from shore to take this picture. Its pretty unnerving to do this in such a narrow boat without rafting up with someone else, but I’m confident (obviously). Unlike other outings, it was clear enough to spot 14,000+ ft. Mt. Rainer
Unknown date (I think Feb. 17th)
This is Snoqualmie Central Night Skiing. We chose to go up despite the weather reports for heavy snow and it was a blast. 6 inches of snow accumulated twice on our car while it sat parked for the 6 total hours we skiied. Snowboarders were having issues with snow building on top of their boards and then subsequently falling so their numbers thinned out as the night progressed. Crystal is fun, but this was probably my favorite trip.

LG’s birthday! We took him skiing up at Crystal Mountain. Good times. We had a professional photographer that station themselves around the resort take some pictures to commemorate the event.

This was last Saturday. Twin was supposed to be out with me, but opted to stay home, cook, and take a nap while I was out. She was feeling burned out. This picture was my "what’s missing in this picture" photo. She’d usually be in these sorts of pictures.
I added this picture because it was warm enough that turtles were actually out catching some sun. There were three of them on this branch, and another swimming toward the branch that’s not in the picture.

I snapped a photo of Twin as we were getting ready to launch. I included this picture even though she said she looked horrible. I never think that and there’s not really a dress code for getting out in a boat and paddling around. Our kayaks are stored at a marina next to some house boats on Lake Union, the same community with the "Sleepless in Seattle" house.

Lastly, this is a picture of me capturing some of the damage from taking a dive off my bike Tuesday on the way home from work. I fractured some of the foam on my helmet, scraped my right pectoral and a bit of my right knee. I was swerving around a bus, but not to go between traffic because a slow, non-helmet wearing rider was going that way. There was a ramp onto the sidewalk, but sand/gravel had collected at the bottom and so my front tire lost traction and came out from underneath me. I was getting ready to clean the wounds and get some New Skin over them to prevent infection.
What a beautiful place to be!!

Seattle! That pic of mount rainier from the water is gorgeous. Good to see more pics of you so if I see you out and about I can recognize you and either a) run up and introduce myself to you like a psycho Internet girl or b) avoid you due to embarrassment from my own dumbass entries.

ouch @ the bike accident. reminds me, i haven’t been on a bike in ages!! D and I really need to make an effort to do that this summer, yanno, before its 100+ degrees out. 🙂 love the picture of the 3 of you in the reflection of the ski mask with the photographer peeking in. haha, very neat.

RYN: Ok, thanks for clarifying. Yeah, I already did what you did – date someone divorced with two kids because I didn’t want to exclude “the one” because he had a past – and it wasn’t his past that ruined it – it was his present and the way he handled everything that led to the downfall. I wasn’t perfect – but I’m better off now. And it taught me how important it is to be on the same page with

someone in regards to how we want to raise children together – and it opened my eyes to what it would be like having children in a relationship. And you’re right – it’s not that I’m giving up…I’m just not looking for it right now – and I’m learning about ways to take control and be empowered. And yes – with each new relationship, I alter what is important to me and change my ideal partner.

nice pictures and those are some nasty looking scrapes. Love the pictures on the water, what great shots. I am curious do you rent or own the Kayaks, And if the latter how much did you pay for them? and what kind of fees do you pay to be out. And outside of drunk boaters, are there any other dangers that come with kayaking, besides the drowning ones?

you rock thanks for the information. And i kind of figured it would be expensive, and I am certainly going to go with a guide and find some people that enjoy doing it in my area. I am not married or have a partner so, I’ll find some people. thanks again for takin the time to explain it all

RYN: Yes, each relationship served as learning processess. And I didn’t say we never fought – I indicated we seldomly fought. He said we never fought – and that was in comparison with his fiance and him, who fought like crazy. We had arguements and disagreements but they were always calm and never got out of hand or crazy. We communicated well but we were young and it could have been better. One

topic he said he wishes he would have talked more about instead of assuming the reason himself was in regards to why I moved back to CA. He thought it was due to a reason that never existed. Had we discussed it more fully I think things would have been different. But anyhow. Communication and open honesty is definitely key for a functional relationship.

I love that picture out in the water, its been so long since I have been out in a body of water like that. Speaking of damage. Once when I was about 10 I was sprinting full speed and ran right into this low hanging branch. It was broken off so it was like someone punched me right in the chest. It took chunks of skin out and everything. I had a rambo like scar on my left pec for about 15 years after that.

RYN: Frodo did, and that’s a great point! I’ll have to bring this up to my girlfriend. We can just both be Frodo, I suppose, rather than dickering about who is which hobbit and has to walk. ^.^

Ouch. Bike falls suck. We call them “winning” in my house, on account of the time I was jokingly racing my gf, had just learned to bike with no hands, threw my hands in the air and shouted “I WIN!” and promptly wiped out. Pfff. Paddling around in a kayak requires a tuxedo. What are you talking about?
