Downer Weather

We are getting the trailing edge of a low-pressure system passing through tonight and it sucks. We have been talking about next weekend and it seems we’re making the trip up to Canada. That ends up being kind of dreadful because we end up being in the car for 2 – 4 hours each way. It seems we are going to go skiing Friday night, then spend Saturday and Sunday in Canada.

What about this weekend…. well, a movie tonight? That seems likely because of the weather.

I was actually finally going to share some pictures from recent history, but I was unable to do that through my phone (the inability to copy IMG HTML Codes and paste into the entry). I even tried typing in the code myself and that didn’t work.

KUOW was just doing a bit on sharing the first concert experience everyone has. I have two because I really don’t like my first one.

In Vancouver BC they have the PNE every year and this particular year, 2000 boy bands were popular and my GF LeoCan was really into the Canadian boy band B4-4. I was all about Eminem and edging my way into Nu Metal with Disturbed and Korn. She informed me after my 4 hour train/bus ride that at the PNE this boy band was playing in addition to I think it was the band McMaster & James. I’m not sure about that, I thought the only concert was going to be Savage Garden. I didn’t have a lot of money (allowance with some extra work, but LeoCan never had money so I would end up having to buy her things and myself going without), so I was starving and then someone gave me some doughnuts and that caused my stomach to get really upset. Then when B4-4 was playing, I sat on the lawn amongst the standing crowd with a few of her friends that were not into this band either.

The real concert, the fun one… was getting to see TRUSTCompany, Disturbed and Korn in that order on their 2002 "Pop Sux! Tour." I was there with CRacer who bought the tickets (I again didn’t have a lot of money, I had been laid off for the off-season at Emerald Downs). That was the first day my 1989 Camaro started having Fuel Pump issues, but I still drove us to the concert. It was great. It was a lot of fun to be their with CRacer, although he was really put off by the crowd-amping David Draiman of Disturbed did. I finally loosened up by the end of the show and started jumping around and all of that (which is a stretch for younger Gemini who was super shy). The bass made my stomach and what not hurt again, probably in conjunction of not having a real dinner.

I am a fan of disturbed and some of Korn’s stuff. At this age though, loud, angry and anxious music don’t sit well too often. Generally i love the music when i am working out though. then it’s fuel. I am thinking of going to see hunger games, and or the new clash of the titans movie. Note sure yet…have a great weekend.

Fedja and I talk about going to Canada, but we would like to go for more than just a weekend since for us it would be more of a 10 hour drive. Someday. ryn: You should definitely go see a bout. The competition between the teams is intoxication and fun. Seattle’s Rat City Roller Girls have some really great players. Despite the fact we slaughtered them last weekend 😉

I hope you two have a great trip next weekend! Movie nights can be fun. Nice change of pace for the two of you too. There will be plenty of good weather ahead, I’m sure, for you two to get out there and enjoy. 🙂 Too bad about the pictures… Hope you’re able to come back to them later. As much as I love rock music, I’ve never been to a concert (‘cept for symphony performances and jazz clubs and those don’t count). One of these days, maybe. I have to admit, I’m just as happy enjoying my music alone in my room (or car) as standing amongst hundreds or thousands of other people. Crowds do nothing good for me.

RYN: Yes, there was a bouquet and garter toss. I didn’t take part. *shrugs* Don’t really care. I’m not looking to get married any time soon (if at all).

RyN: I think you would agree not all people are trust worthy. Friendships like great loves are rare. However, what I wrote about was more reflective. Some changes spur a bit of sentimentality. As for what i shared in the entry. None was exaggerated but I used them to illustrate what i learned about myself looking back over the last 5 years of my life.

the last paragraph was more about poetic prose and the random thoughts that were occurring to me as I wrote the short reflective piece. I can so what i wrote lead you and i am sure others to those conclusion. But as you know, in a diary we can’t always give context..hope this is helpful.
