Frog update #2

Well….mom came and picked me up early from work, around noon, and I spent the rest of the day at the hospital. When mom picked me up, she told me it was more serious than we thought. His kidneys had actually stopped working.

Apparently when you get severly dehydrated such as he, it first affects your blood flow, then your kidneys, and lastly your brain. I mentioned how he wasnt urinating so they had to force him to urinate. Well, nearly 30+ hours later, he finally started to urinate, but it was crystalized. Not a good thing, and very painful. He was screaming everytime he did it. Poor baby. By the time I got there though he was starting to feel a bit better. I didnt leave until 9 last night, when I left he was back to his old self, they had reduced the amount of fluids they were pumping into him, and he’s probably going to get to come home today. WHOO HOO!!

Several times we had to load him up in the hospitals little wagon and take him outside, simply because he was bored. I usually had to push his little IV stand behind him in his wagon. Everyone was oohhing and ahhhing, and oh that poor baby-ing him…..last night we took him out shortly after dark and he was hootin and a hollerin, waving to everyone as they walked by. Mom, Kris and I laughed saying he was protesting the hospital, telling everyone to save themselves and run far away.

By the time I got there the IV was in his foot. They had poked him at least 8 times for the IV. Since it was in his foot he couldnt walk or stand on it. That drove him nuts, hence the reason we took him for rides.

Earlier that day me and Kris walked down the street to the florist to get him some balloons. The gift shop was closed. We got him this green dragon thing that they call an ‘air walker’ it seriously just walks across the floor, well floats, but it does not float in the air. He was enjoying beating it up, kicking it and hitting it to make it fly away.

I took some pictures of my sick frog with my phone. Going to try to upload and share those now. Give me just a sec.

Eating the french fries me and mom brought him. He had just woke up.
