It’s been awhile since I’ve written. On Monday afternoon Barb O’Brien (my old boss) called here to ask me if I had Dona Lovely’s phone #, and of course I have Dona’s phone #, because she’s a really good friend of mine, but Dona SEVERELY dislikes Barb, so I want reluctant to give the # to her, but she had some SHOCKING news. She told me that Dona’s husband Gerald (where he worked) called, and they (his work) were trying to get hold of Dona because Gerald had had a heart attack, and had passed away. I was shocked! But Barb wanted to call Dona and TELL HER, or go over and tell her, but she knew how Dona feels about her (although she claims she doesn’t know why!) So, I gave her the # and hung up. About 15-20 minutes later I called Barb back, and asked her how things went, she said that Edie (Dona’s best-friend) was there with her and Dona already knew, and she DID NOT want to talk to anybody! Well, last night I found out from Dawna Brasier (who called to tell me about Gerald, not knowing that I already knew) that Gerald had the heart attack at home, and Dona was with him in the ambulance, and he died at the hospital 2 hours after he was admitted. Dona told her that it was a massive heart attack and only a week prior to that Gerald had had a physical and he was told he had a "clean bill of health." In any case, BARBARA O’BRIEN lied to me to get the phone #! Ooh! I am incredibly ugly at that woman! I didn’t call Dona, because I didn’t want to "crowd" her, I felt she needed space and time. I bought her a card (which K. is going to mail tonight) and earlier this evening I called Dona to see how she was doing. She sounds "BEAT" and sad, which is understandable, but she was pleasant, as always. She said she was okay, and things would be fine. She told me that she had made funeral arrangements and the funeral would be April 3rd, a week from this Saturday at Crosby’s Funeral Home (Kevin and I are having a debate about where it is located.) She said it would mean alot to her if K, and I went, and I told her we would be there. She thanked me for calling, told me she loved me, and told me to make sure I kept in touch.
Kevin and I are FINALLY ALL prepared for Baby A. On Monday his income tax cheque came in, and we went to Bangor and picked up "the necessities." We got a swing (K. and I have heard from several sources that they are convenient.) We got a carrier/car seat, a baby bath, a diaper bag, and TONS of clothes. So, Baby A. will be well endowed when s/him finally arrives. Yesterday I was 11 weeks pregnant, a week short of 3 months. The baby is pretty much formed – by next month the "fetus" can hear my voice! And in 18 days we can hear Baby A.’s heartbeat! It’s almost becoming real!
