March 11, 1993

Well, it’s been awhile since I wrote! I spent 2 and 1/2 weeks sicker than a dog, I only had enough energy to go from the bedroom to the living room. Then, one night, when I upchucked, there was blood in the toilet, so I got a little scared, and I called the doctor (I switched to a doctor’s office in Bangor) and a doctor told me to stop the pre-natal vitamins, and she prescribed a medication for the nausea and vomiting. Since I’ve been taking the medicine, I only get nauseous occasionally. (I blew my "cookies" at "Riches") Today was actually the first day that I have been out of the house in quite awhile. Kevin and I had to go to Bangor because I needed to get my "bloodwork" done before my appt. on Monday. I got stuck with that DAMN needle 3 times, and they only got blood on the 3rd try, and I couldn’t piss until after the 3rd try either! Anyway, my doctor is going to be Dr. Buchanon, and SHE is extremely nice, she’s the one who prescribed the medicine for the nausea. I’m glad that I’m gonna have a female doctor, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable with a male looking at my "bug." Dr. Buchanon will also do the delivery at EMMC. I have to make a point to ask her, that without a doubt, Kevin can be there by my side for the delivery. Kevin says that he’s gonna be there with me through all the appointments, and he will go to Lamaze classes with me, no matter what it takes! I love him for that. I’ve been in a really bitchy mood lately, and I can’t explain why – raging hormones I guess! Today was the first time I actually let Kevin close to me, and we had fun. We shopped around the mall, and we had a sourkraut dog at Orange Julias’s it was nice. I FINALLY got my hair cut today! My bangs and the "whispys" in the back. It’s an okay hair cut, give me a couple months, and it WILL be long enough to wear up in a barrette – it’s damn near close now.

March 12, 1993

Well, I had an exciting day! I got my exercise in anyways! Lena and I went to Dover and shopped, and had some lunch. It felt really nice to get out of the house and actually be doing something! I bought TONS of baby clothes and a crib bumper and blanket. Kevin said that he ought to send me out with my friends more often, because when I got home, we made love for the first time in weeks. Do you realize that I have been writing in this journal for over a year? and I still have ALOT to go! Well, I’m glad I got to go shopping with Lena today, because there is a MAJOR storm on it’s way to Maine. The weathermen are predicting near blizzard conditions, and they advise people to be prepared to be snowed-in for at least 2 to 3 days! They said to make sure you have flashlights and candles, and fill your tub with water because the electricity is going to go out because of the severe winds! And all of this is supposed to begin tomorrow afternoon.
