The Phone Call
I recieved a phone call at work the other day. Normally I dont recieve a call from anybody except family…so I thought something was wrong and I rushed to the phone. I was expecting the worst…I was told my cousin was on the phone and she wanted to talk to me. so I pick up the reciever and answered…she was calling to say hello and to let me know she was in Edmonton for business meetings. She wanted to come to see me…I havent seen her since my dad died…its been two years. It was quite the surprise to hear from her but it was real nice to hear from her as well…can u tell I miss my family?? Hehe 🙂 She asked where the club was…I told her to take a cab and the cabbie would know where it was since its one of the more popular nite spots in the city. She walked in the door and I gave her a big hug…so we sat down and we talked for a while…she ordered a few drinks and we talked more. She must have been there for at least 3 hrs…we talked about family, who’s doin what and what’s going on lately..mainly just catching up on family business and other things. She left after midnight and she wanted to have dinner the next day before she flew home. So the next day she called me and we met at a chinese restaurant near my house..so we met there and had dinner…and it was super good too…mmmmmmmmm shanghai noodles..hehe 🙂 She told me she would be back next week for more meetings, but she said she was gonna drive this time so we can do some touring around. It was real nice to see her again..I love my cousin with all my heart..shes a good person…I’m glad shes my family. Our family is close and we always keep in touch as much as possible..its always like that in Native families. Well..this ends here..I will return soon..Basta.
