Monsters – Shinedown
Flirting with a beautifully dark, mildly destructive, head space. Sleep is hard to find, words escape when I try to explain. Silence eclipses as I pull away. My professional training can see the crash coming. But emotionally, I can’t seem to shake this. I want to reach out. I want help. But I also see how thin everyone is stretched. This is a shared struggle for so many people. My friends and family have enough on their plate. I can handle this. It’s temporary. Most of it hormonally driven and it evens out at times.
Just hearing Ashley’s voice the other day. A friend who I don’t have to say all the things to. She just..she hears it and gets it. I get it for her too. So we laugh and hope that this Covid bullshit will be over sooner rather than later so we can hug and our babies can play together.
“This is a shared struggle for so many people” – I say this all the time as well. And yes, so true. But don’t let this be a reason to deny yourself of the self care you also need. Hugs.
