Sun rise, sun set
These transitions in and out of darkness bring so much beauty to our world.
I grew up in a small town in the Midwest. The sunrises and sunsets there were unparalleled. Cotton candy colored clouds and a full spectrum of color in between. Now in Arizona, it’s as though the sun paints the mountains everyday.
When I was living in a city, these moments were obscured by skyscrapers and power lines. The light reflects off of the buildings, sometimes creating multiple suns beaming light into the new day.
No matter where I am I feel blessed that this beauty is here if only I notice it, if only I am present with it. This beauty belongs to everyone. It’s an anchor point of the day. I can always count on the sun returning every single morning. It’s rather reassuring.
