First Grandchild

Dear diary: Yesterday was one of those "once in a lifetime" events that will forever be seared into my memory.  Yesterday, I became a grandfather.  Yesterday, my only daughter gave birth to her first child.  Yesterday, a baby girl was born.  Yesterday, my wife was able to enjoy the big event and she became a grandmother herself.  What a joy!  And, the delivery was rather quick and uneventful too.  The baby and both parents are doing great………..

I think back to late summer 2006, when Kelly was not doing well at all following her initial diagnosis and surgery and also to this past summer when she had her first recurrence…..and I am so thankful that she is doing much better and was here to enjoy the wedding last May and now our first grandchild.
