The Proposal

It was our 2 year anniversary and you told me we were going to dinner and to see wicked.  You asked me to take the day off from work, but I wasnt able to, the best I could do was 4pm and even that was a strech considering my day.  So in the morning you asked "can you leave earlier?" I said no because I was in 3 meetings that I couldnt miss ending at 4pm.  So you take me to work. Prior to you told me that I needed to be dressed up.  So I wore this cute black dress (all day people were asking are you going dancing?) No, who says that. Anyway.

So finally I get ready to leave, I get out of my meeting 20 minutes early, after feeling like I broke your heart.  I sent you a text prior to apologizing for not being able to and you respond "its ok, I always have a plan b".  So I get out of my meeting racing to get my stuff together and call you to come and get me. No answer. Hmm. I send a text. No response. 15 minutes later, my phone rings. "im downstairs" I race out the door and I dont see you.

A man standing in front of a black Escalade dressed in a black suit approaches me, asked me if I was Serenity. I respond yes.  He says I am here to pick you up.  So he takes me to the spa I went to last year for our anniversary for a day at the spa.  Only this time I had no clue.  I walk in and have no idea what i am getting done.  They inform me its my nails and to pick out a color, I decided to go with a french, it had been a while since I had one.  So Im getting my nails done thinking wow, how kind of him knowing I had wanted to get them done yesterday, but not having a chance to.  30 minutes into the manicure putting on the top coat, I get a text asking if I was almost done.  What was the rush I thought, but then realized it was probably the dinner reservations.  So I get my stuff, barely let my nails dry praying I didnt smudge them.  I walk to the front and the owner informs me that he left something here for me. 

She hands me a gold tin with a brown ribbon tied around it and a letter.  The letter read " I hope your nails look beautiful…have the driver take you to {insert address}…the security guard will escort you back to the Fern Room.  I race outside, get in the truck and we are off.  Thinking I am about to eat.  We pull up to a Conservatory (Botanical Garden Place) I get out and I am immediately greeted at the door.  I was told to put my stuff down and follow her.  So lead me to a room and told me to keep to the left.  I walk in and it is absolutely amazing.  I felt like I was on a tropical island, there was flowing water, bright colors and a nice warm temperature.  I cross over the little river using the rocks to balance and I look up and see you standing by the waterfall, dressed in your suit.

I walk up to you give you a hug and kiss and you look at me clear your throat and pull out a sheet of paper.  You had two poems that you read and at this point my heart is pounding.  After you read them, you tell me to open the box.  I open the box to find a ton of chocolate and a huge Hershey Kiss with a message attached "Serenity, Will you Marry Me?" At this point I am balling, you get down on one knee and propose.

I couldnt have asked for a more perfect proposal.  You have made me the happiest woman and I can not wait to spend the rest of my life with you as Man and Wife.

We leave there and go to Dinner at Everest and to see Wicked.

Wow what a day and the best is yet to come…
