Rolling Wood Rack
One other 2020 project I tackled was this rolling wood rack. These rollers support a row of pallets for my firewood. This rack holds enough for two winters. It’s hard to tell from the picture but the rails slope toward the far end where the porch is. I remove wood from the far end and as I finish one pallet I can remove it and the whole pile moves forward. (Actually I have to help it with the tractor). This keeps the wood easy to reach and eliminates the need to restack it. It means that the wood is “first in, first out” so I can stack the “green” wood at the back and by the time it gets to the front it is all dry.
I got these rails from work when they closed the plant down and were selling these for scrap metal. What a deal! My neighbor, Nic, did the welding and fabrication of the connecting angle iron pieces. It’s great having nice neighbors too!
Namaste
It’s a masterpiece!
