Maybe a promise is better

than actually having been

maybe living for a hope

is better than suffering with in

Maybe dreaming of actually holding the rose,..

is much sweeter than the scent of it on your nose…

Some times I sit in wonder

and reflect on what has been

were my happiest moments

hoping and praying within?

A stolen glance..

what a secret joy inside

A soft smile..

though I hardly even tried…

So maybe sometimes the dream is better

than actually never having been

ice cream pops and gum drops

won’t make you thin!
