Happy Memorial Day
Yesterday was the big birthday party, and it went really well. I made rainbow jello for it and it was a big hit!
So, anyway, after I get home and check my messages, I find that Tom has been trying to get ahold of me. He ended up driving down (through the storms) for something to do. We sat out on the deck and drank a little. He and my mom had a really long conversation. My mom is cool. Then, he and I talked until I made myself go to bed so I could get up and go to work. We talked about a bunch of stuff, but mostly Casey and Desiree. My heart just sank in my chest really bad, and I had to call Casey. I miss him so much. I might go up to Franklin on Wednesday and help him build his loft. That could be fun. I think he and I need to talk about some things, too. It seems there may just be a lot of really bad communication.
Anyway, so I went to work this morning and had to deal with this new intake with a really bad attitude. He was slamming his tray around at lunch and was being mouthy with John big time. I was kind of scared we were going to have an incident. Then later, I was ready to strangle this 11-year-old kid for running his mouth. He was being super annoying and asking questions he’s not allowed to ask, and discussing things he’s not allowed to discuss. When asked to stop, he gave me attitude, and started up again a few moments later. Then he had the nerve to say, “She’s new, she doesn’t know what she’s doing.” I got so pissed, I could have sent him to 115 to write the handbook, taken points, and put him in lockdown for the rest of the night just to let him know I have the power to do it. He probably deserves it, and he would probably benefit from it a bit as well. Then Jerome came up to take over, and I calmed down and decided to let it go.
I came home and went to sleep, because Lucky Lindsay gets to pull a double tonight. Not a problem. I want the hours. So, I have an hour till I go in. The good thing is that all the residents will be in lockdown and most likely asleep the whole time I’m there. Yay! Time for Lindsay to crochet, and hope there are no new intakes from midnight to 6am.
I’m going to go get dressed and such. Happy Memorial Day.
Give me a call when you are up here or stop by the Bug I work 1-9 on Wednesday.
