A *HUGE* change and MUST read!
If you read my last entry you noticed it was scattered at best. I talked about the walking distances, the schools, riding my bicycle when I was a child. Then I said, "I will talk about the house at a later time when it is quiet and I can think." Well… it isn’t much more quite. Corban has gone from being better from the flu yesterday, back to sleeping all day again today. Now he says his ear hurts. I have never seen my little boy so punie. In any case, he is kicking his feet up and down right now, Whitney, Alexandra and Corban have been fighting about one thing or another all day and they are driving me bonkers, BUT… I want to tell you about the house.
You are all going to think of me differently. You are all going to laugh and probably call me names. You are going to come up with your own conclusions about me, but…. THIS HOUSE IS HAUNTED. When the guy rented to us he said, "I can’t keep people in the house more than a couple of months, because they say it is haunted" First, why would he say that? So, no matter what, ever little sound I hear it is a ghost in my mind, which by the way, I have not made up my mind if I even believe in ghosts, but the Bible speaks of spirits which are demons, and whatever is from the other world scares. I was in my room last night, playing a seek and find game on the computer. Whitney, Alexandra, and Corban who were all sleeping in my room, as well as the dog were sound a sleep, not talking, or moving around. I heard a thump, thump, thump, like a man or grown person walking down the stairs. Certainly, it could have been a squirrel or raccoon on the roof. I have seen them, but this wasn’t a muppet size thud, and it didn’t sound like it was on the roof, it sounded as though it was from the second floor. Our dog woke up and hysterically started barking. I had to pee so bad later that I went out to go to the bathroom and as I did something in the kitchen fell. I quietly, so as not to startle my kids if they woke, said, "Please go away" and I did not hear or experience another thing until right before I was going to wake the kids. This was not my imagination, but it could have been any number of things. We have the old heaters from 1902 that run hot water through them to heat up your house. It could have been nuts from a tree rolling down the side of the house. I don’t know what it was, but it had me scared, and if I am scared how can I tell my children not to be scared. As it is, we are living in a five bedroom house, and they won’t go to another room without someone with them and they all sleep in my room.
I went to register Corban in school today and all I could think was what if I have to leave Corban at school and come home by myself. It didn’t happen that way though. I went to register Corban in school to find out he starts an hour later than Whitney, who is in high school and goes to school next to him. Alex has to be at school 30 minutes before him. How on earth am I going to let my baby walk a mile to school by himself. Also, I was not fond of the office ladies at the elementary. I have to think about the well being of my children and the comfort of our family.
Because of all of this I decided that I just couldn’t stay where we were. So, after I picked up Whitney and Alexandra from school we went to look at apartments close to where I work. I found one that is super small. It is two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one floor, no basement, no upstairs. A small kitchen and even smaller dining room. However, we are always right next to each other anyway. At least for a year, Corban can share a room with me. Alexandra and Whitney can share a room. If Corban has a friend over then they can sleep in the living room. Probably where he will be anyway.
The apartment is cheaper than the house. It includes water, garbage, sewer, internet and cable. All I have to pay for is gas. It comes with a washer, dryer, and refrigerator. They just put new sinks in that are awesome and will be putting new carpets in before we move in on January 31st. Our view out the front sliding door is trees. We can also see the car. There is a park right next to us. Our dog spike will have a dog park where he can go on his leash and walk with us. They also have a vet and groomer on site. I work 3 miles away.
I did get my schedule for work finally. I work 8-5 Sun and Mon, have Tues and Wednesday off and then work Thurs-Sat 8-5. It is a really nice schedule other than I don’t want to work on Sunday.
Anyway, the kids will be moving schools, they will be riding the bus. Alexandra will be in the same school as Corban until the 6th grade so they will be riding together, which makes me feel safer. We are in a secured apartment, where you have to be buzzed in.
That is my update for today.
