Treat others the way you would like to be treated

My father engrained into my mind…

Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

But he taught me little else.

So I go along, being nice and sweet.

Not knowing how to handle the assholes.

And I think he pushed that lesson on his children.

Because he’s the biggest asshole ever.

So if he’s an asshole and treating me like shit,

and I am kind and treating him nicely, hoping that one day there will be a pay off.

Who is winning?

I know sure as shit, it isn’t me.

ryn: Thanks! I’m going to do my best to go with the flow. 🙂 Sounds like my Dad.. wonder if we’re related. 😉 Something a friend told me once, assholes are assholes because they’re angry. And anger is a secondary emotion to being fearful or hurt. Although it makes sense, his advice didn’t help. But good luck. I’d rather be remembered as a nice/sweet person than an asshole.

Not the features I was referring to, madame.
