The school shooting.

Let’s address the real issue.
It’s not the tool, it is the man.
It’s the why?
The why!
Moments like these are not ones to run in fear.
Moments like these are when you question the why.
And figure out how to prevent it in the future.

I tell my mother about the shooting.
What a sick person?
Yes sick, but why?

We could revolt inwards.
Lock the doors.
Yank the kids from school.
But stand strong.
Now is the time for outreach.
Now is the time to question why these things happen.
And take it upon ourselves to find the solutions.

Our government cannot prevent these things.
We give it too much credit.
We cause these things to happen.
Wake up America.
We’ve been sleeping for long enough.

And yes. Hug your children.
Not just in light of the tragedy.
But to show them what love and acceptance is.

Gun violence is a symptom of a problem.
Address the problem and we wouldn’t have to worry about the symptoms.
