Quiet Sunday

This week was very hectic.  It started last Monday when I took Bradley down to pay for his college classes.  His brother is administrating the scholarship fund through the fire department and was supposed to meet us there.  When he finally answered my calls, he said he had meant to call me for several days and let me know the funds wouldn’t be available until August 12th.  The catch is that Brad has to be enrolled NOW to get the scholarship.  SOOO, I paid the bill out of pocket and have been trying to make it on the $13.00 that left in my account until August 1.  
Then, I got into an altercation with Brian’s former boss.  He told Brian on his last night that he wasn’t sure if Brian was a stupid wetback (for those who are unfamiliar with the term, it refers to an illegal mexican immigrant) or a stupid nigger.  I suggested to him that an apology was in order if he wanted to keep his bones intact.  And I am sure I phrased it that politely too, because I am not a violent person, even when backing a small minded bigot up against the wall.  So, Brian is looking for another job, but he left with the apology.
Wednesday at work, I was assigned to work with a woman who likes to sleep all day.  She wouldn’t work, I wouldn’t let her sleep on duty, and nothing got done correctly.  Everyone from the warden down was breathing down my neck over it.  My immediate supervisor made a point of telling me she knew it wasn’t my fault, but I still don’t like it when my day goes like that.  
The boys and I had a nice day yesterday, no problems, and I’ve let them sleep in all day today just for the peace and quiet.  Tomorrow promises to be hectic, so today is going to be another lazy day on my part.  Minimal housework and some yardwork this evening, and then more relaxation.
