Update From Last Post

Family meeting went well.  For me, anyway.  Both boys got to air their feelings about things, and it mostly included problems with each other.  Their only complaint with me was having to help with housework and having to let me know where they are when not home.  I found both arguments invalid.  The front door is thataway if you don’t like the way I run my home.

The situation with my neice is still unresolved, though I spoke with her and she definitely wants help.  I called the sheriff’s office, they came out and met Mara and me at my house, it turns out she was hiding at a home one street over from me.  They told us however, that they couldn’t do anything because her parents and brother are living in the next county over, so tomorrow we file a report via phone in that county.

This upcoming .week is my last week off from disability.  FINALLY!  I’ve been home since October, and I’m ready to get back to work and out of this house.

The weather changed, went from barefoot and shirtless weather yesterday, to rain and sleet this morning, so my yardwork plans have changed to doing laundry today, drinking coffee, and watching it rain.

LATE NIGHT UPDATE:   Just got a call from Bradley (he’s working the fire department tonight) and he told me he has a job.  Apparently the fact that his younger brother landed a job last week made him feel like a slacker, so he’s had me take him for  applications and interviews the last few days and for once, actually heeded my advice on calling back.  The fire dept has been on scene at a suicide for several hours, and he wasn’t able to do anything but stand by, so he called several places back, and one of them told him he is hired for an after school job.  Hopefully, the boost in self-esteem and lack of goof-off time will help him keep his head on straight.  I was excited for him, so I had to share.  It is so very nice to be able to post something positive once in a while, I feel like I get too caught up in the negative things.

Oh yeah, I was also offered a part time job as a security guard, at $11.00 an hour.  Still undecided.  The extra money would be great, but my primary job is 50 hours a week plus drive time, so not sure if I’m going to do it.  My days are broken into four 12 1/2 hour days, so that leaves me four days free for extra work.  Can’t decide, got to think and pray on it

Glad the family meeting we well. Our weather in Missouri did the same – 60 degrees one day to sleet and snow the next.

50 hours a week is more than enough for me…..hope you don’t need to work more just to make ends meet. 🙁

Great about the job! RYN. I wouldn’t have encouraged my children to be promiscuous by letting them have members of the opposite sex stay with them if they hadn’t been with them for long, but if they were in a long term relationship I didn’t mind.

Thank you Jesus. You see, when we ask, He hears, and He delivers. So glad about your son, and I know that God has put his touch on his heart, and he will turn around! Ginny
