The 4th kind of sucked. We didn’t do much of anything until that evening. Then we were about to head out to the lake (which turned out to be a waste of time) when the ex live in sister came by wanting to bbq at the lake. By the time she got everything she wanted it was after 7pm. The the hubby and I did all the freakin work. I tried being nice, but it was very hard. You don’t decided to do something that major at the spur of the moment then expect the people you invite to do all of the work. Anyway, we get there and get the fire going and find out that because of the Mayor of Kenner (according to a police officer) that there wouldn’t be anything happening that night. Why on Earth was the radio station announcing things would be happening. So we were there until about 10pm because we still had to eat and let the fire die down and crap. Matt was fine with everything though. He’s a great kid.
We had a tropical storm hit last night. It was interesting. I stood in the front door way watching the neighbors garbage cans flip over. The people next door hadn’t put theirs out by the street yesterday, so their’s was full lol. I shouldn’t laugh, but I am. The lights flickered once in awhile, but thankfully never went out. A lot of people around the area did lose power. We are usually lucky that way. Our street never floods either. Now we are watching Dennis (I believe). I think he’ll hit Florida, but who knows. Lyssa, be careful!!!
Today you’d never know it stormed like it did last night. It’s beautiful out.
The Connecticut sister isn’t coming to visit at the end of the year. Instead she’s paying for the ex live in sister to go visit her. I’ll have to wait until next year sometime to see her again. That sucks. It will be good for the ex live in sister to take a trip like that, though. She actually wants to see NYC 🙂
That’s about it for now. bye.
that’s really bad to advertise fireworks and not follow though.

bummer that your 4th sucked 🙁 we had Taco Bell…woo…and the idiot-neighbors set-off M80s and the like, until it started raining (around 10:30pm). YAY rain! heh 😉 bummer ’bout the Conn. sis not comin’ down, but it ought to be interesting for the ex-live-in sis. NYC is not on my list of places to go…too many people. boohiss@people. btw, no worries ’bout Dennis (c)

(c) unless he veers left (to y’all) or a bit more to the right (me)…but as long as he stays a Cat4, I’m fairly certain that because we’re 33 miles inland and there are hills it’d hit first, we’re relatively “good.” Of course, it ne’er hurts to “be prepared.” I got chocolate & coffee…I’m good to go 😉 heh. ~Lys
