Doing ALL THE THINGS in 2013 (A picture book.)
This year so far:
I reconnected with an old friend.
I signed up to be a participant in a St. Baldrick’s Day event.
I started my own Independent Business with PartyLite.
Buy candles. Lots and lots of candles.
I drove across the country from Connecticut all the way to Denver Colorado with my friend to help her move. (Its a terrible picture of both of us.)
I got pulled over for my first moving violation while operating a vehicle. (I got pulled over in Illinois goin 85 in a 65. Illinois was so FLAT. It was just so damn easy to be going that fast. I didn’t have a picture commemorating the event, so I put in a picture of Shel Silverstein’s Missing Piece for effect.)
I discovered that Iowa had nothing but some hills and windmills. ( I don’t feel like posting windmills. Use your imagination.)
I saw the Rocky Mountains for the first time ever.
I flew on a plane for the first time ever and managed not to hyperventilate (too much) and discovered that it really wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. (That’s a picture of clouds. That was right after we got above the cloud line and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.)
I came home from a cross-country trek to my wonderful boyfriend. We completed our St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser, raised over $2,700 for childhood cancer research, shaved our heads in solidarity with all the children in the world who would be losing their hair anyway to that terrible disease, and donated our hair to the Angel Hair Foundation.
I signed up with a personal trainer and made a commitment to get into the best shape of my life. I am going to make it to the top of Mt. Katahdin this summer. And I am going to make it to the top of Mt. Washington this year. And Trainer Tim is going to help me reach those lofty goals. In the past week I have used more muscles that I didn’t know I had, done exercises I didn’t think I could do, pushed myself harder, faster, and further than even I thought I could go. And I found out that doing it all wouldn’t kill me. And that I have more in me than even I realize.
Although I did find out that it could hurt. I dislocated my sternum from my rib cage or some such shit doing bench dips. And while I am currently swearing up and down that I will never do them again, I know in a few weeks I’ll be back at it and doing it better than before. Because it didn’t kill me. And it going to make me stronger.
I’ve gone to WEBs twice this year and accumulated more stash yarn. My goal is to reach SABLE. (Stash Accumulated Beyond Life Expectancy.) (Note: I am not that lady. Nor do I have that much yarn. Yet.)
Oh. And on top of all of this? I’m going to WildFire with Meg in June and I’m going to learn how to Fire Spin.
Because 2013 is going to be my year. I am making it my year. And I have decided to throw away any and all excuses. And I am going to – going to – DO. IT. ALL. Anything and everything. Positive attitude. And the want and ability to get it done.
Why not 2013? Its here. Its now. And I’m ready for it.
ALW
PS: Sorry this post was picture intense. It was really the only way to fully show all the things.
Sounds like you’re doing some exciting stuff. FIRESPINNING???? I can’t believe all the yarn you have!
