St Baldrick’s Day
This year I have decided to participate in St. Baldrick’s Day. On Sunday, March 31st, I will be shaving my head in solidarity with all the children with cancer who will be losing their hair anyway. My goal is to raise $1,000 from now until my shave date. All money raised goes towards Childhood Cancer Research.
I am very excited to be participating in this event. A friend of mine had done this event a few years ago, and said it was a very rewarding experience. My grandmother was diagnosed with kidney cancer mid-2012. As of right now, she is cancer free, and I will be shaving my head in her honor.

As much as I am excited to be doing this, I am a little scared to shave my head. Call me vain, but I’ve always pretty much had long hair. Not that I ever do anything with it, but its always been there. I’m going to knit myself a nice soft hat, I think. March. It is still kind of chilly out, and I’ll probably be wanting something to keep my head warm.
Here’s to a good cause and going outside your comfort zone! I’m already signed up, so there is no looking back!
