Thirsty Thursdays
Michelle and I have decided that Thursday is now going to be our night that we get together and cook amazing food. It is also going to be known as Thirsty Thursday.
Last night I made chicken stuffed with red peppers, sundried tomatoes, and cheese. I wanted to do spinach too, but spinach was expensive this week. So I passed. It still came out really bangin’. I made extra, specifically for leftovers, and I’m kind of sad that there ARE no leftovers to be had. But that says a lot about how delicious the meal came out. Definitely a compliment to the cook when the only thing leftover is dirty dishes.
I made dinner, and Michelle brought the wine. Only she couldn’t decide which one was best, so she brought three different bottles. We finished two, between her, Sam, and myself.
We had the Stark Raving White and the Murphy’s Law. Both were excellent. We’re going to crack open the Once Upon a Vine on Saturday. Michelle is going to come over again and we’re going to watch Sherlock. I have quickly gotten addicted to it and I just want to plow through that whole series. Only I’m being a good girl and I’m having patience. While I can just sit here by myself and watch it, I’d rather watch it with her. She’s already seen it. But it helps to have something you’ve already seen playing while you’re just beginning to learn how to knit.
That means what you think it means: I taught her how to knit. And she’s picked it up really fast. I only showed her once or twice how to do it, and she went from there. And aside from the occasional YO and vast number of stitches she’s added on by mistake, she has the basic how-to down. She even holds the needles pretty much the right way.Which is half the battle, IMO. And her tension has improved since her cast on. I am super impressed. I’m going to show her how to cast off on Saturday, and then start her on a scarf or a dish towel, I think.
We also disccused the benefits of a good corset while she was over. Last year I bought my first real corset. I’ve worn corsets before, but have never owned one. Sam’s godbrother, Ron, works for ‘The Lady and the Leopard.’ They go to Renn Faires and conventions and sell corsetry and costume pieces. Ron hooked me up with a really sweet corset that fits really well. And while corsets look sexy as all get-out, I think they have lot of benefits other than the poontang you might get. They’re good for posture, they help support you and alleviate back pain if you have it, and they help control your eating. Lately I’ve been in the habit of eating out of boredom. A habit that desperately needs breaking, especially since I’m going to the gym in order to try to lose weight.
So I’ve decided that I’m going to try to wear my corset more often. I wore it all day at work, and it felt great. And it makes me look damn good, if I do say so myself. I have the benefit of having a really comfy corset. I’ve worn this since about 7am. It is now 3.30 pm and I am still just as comfortable as when I put it on this morning.
We’ll see how this pans out. Its just a ‘lets see if anything happens with this’ thing.
So yeah. Things and stuff.
