Reflections
Reading all my notes here, receiving so many flowers, cards, gifts, angels, phone calls and balloons………..all leave me with very little words to express how good it feels to have so many people care about you. It’s really hard to wrap your head around it.
Most of us don’t really get to know how important you are to others until your funeral…….and then it’s a little too late. 🙂
So I’m a little dumb-struck taking it all in, having trouble really understanding how dire my situation was and trying my best to deal with how slow (in my mind)recovery is. I’ve always preferred to live “full speed ahead” in life and this tries my patience but I’m grateful to have “recovery” time to go through rather than cemetary maintenance.
I’ll be turning 65 in a couple days and that just seems totally impossible to me. 65 years old is for people who go to “early bird specials” at 4:30 in the afternoon, who shuffle along behind their walkers, who say “back in my day….”
Not me. But since my brother just turned 70 years old less than a week ago, I guess I have to believe it. The way he and I talk to each other is absolutely no different than when we were kids together so that helps me accept it somewhat. No, that’s lie…I don’t accept it at all but I can pretend to understand it.
Thanks to everyone who have wished me well, prayed for me. I can definitely see how my perspective on everyday life has and will change and it’s a good thing. A very good thing.
Always good to see you here

It’s just a number…keep telling yourself that. My number is 67 and I sure don’t feel that number. Young in heart I’ll always be. Don’t ever lose your excitement for life and new adventures. Have a positive outlook and don’t sweat the small stuff and 65 will just be a number to you also 🙂 Besides ya gotta stay young in heart for that Grandbaby your about to hold 🙂
