The Garden of Love

I went to the Garden of Love,
And saw what I never had seen:

A Chapel was built in the midst,
Where I used to play on the green.

And the gates of this Chapel were shut,
And `Thou shalt not’ writ over the door;
So I turn’d to the Garden of Love,
That so many sweet flowers bore,

And I saw it was filled with graves,
And tomb-stones where flowers should be:
And Priests in black gowns were walking their rounds,
And binding with briars my joys and desires.

~William Blake

I saw a diary called Songs of Experience and it made me think of my favorite Blake poem which is from that book. So here it is. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

didn’t bob ross pass away? seems like he died of cancer a few years back, I can’t remember. I liked his attitude when he was painting, cause he’d make this line and I’d be, okay you messed it up and then he’d make a tree and i’d be like, damn he’s good..

I like that poem. It’s really beautiful.
