Fire, cops, and firefighters, oh my!

So my night cleaning IGA was a little more interesting than expected!

James and I are cleaning away and decided to go out to the car for a smoke break. While we were lighting up, I looked over and saw a  fairly big fire in what looked like inside the bank. I said to James "Is that fire in the RBC bank??!?!??!" He looked over and said "no, that’s outside the bank". He got out of the car, and yelled at me to call 911.

I ran into IGA and didn’t want to call 911 because I mean…it wasn’t a HUGE overwhelming fire, so I called 411 and got the local police number. I told them what was happening and then hung up and ran out to join James. He had already put out the fire (newspaper on the park bench), and the kids who started it had run away when they saw him coming.

He used to be on the local fire department, and the fire hall happened to be two places down so we walked over and told the firefighters as they came out that it was all out.

On the way back to the bank we ran into this guy who asked us if we had called the police. We told him we had and he saw who did it, so we all stood around and waited for the cop. As we were waiting a woman drove by in a van, stopped and thinking we had started the fire asked "don’t you have anything better to do?" We laughed and explained we made the call and were waiting for the cops. She said "I thought you looked to old for this sort of thing". lol
When the cop came we gave all the details…turns out I know the guy who was involved…Brandon…what an idiot, he knows better.
Anyways we finished cleaning IGA and now I’m home.

In other news, James got a job in red deer so he’s going to be commuting there until we move.

I wonder how we’re going to get the money to move. gah.

Anyways, ttyl:)
