11-1-11

Well, it’s November. I signed up for NoJoMo. We’ll see how long I last 😛

So yesterday was Halloween. The first one in a while that I had no plans for, and didn’t try to dress up for. It was okay all together. Went and donated plasma and went to class like any other day. Some friends were over when I got home, and more showed up later, all out of coincidence apparently, which is kind of cool. It was a random get together, but might as well have been a Halloween party. I am satisfied with this.

I’m not doing great financially by any means, but I’m at least caught up now, so that’s something. Having a little breathing room is always nice. I got the refund for my Spanish book that never arrived, which I was kind of worried about. Went grocery shopping and sample stealing at Costco earlier, so I’m squared away for now. School is going well enough, though I’m a bit concerned about my Spanish midterm next Thursday. I have to have photos of my family(which I don’t have), or draw them(which I am horrible at), and do a 5-7 minute presentation on them in front of the class. Balls. I’ll manage, but my grasp of Spanish isn’t exactly strong right now, in the sense of being able to know the correct context for the words in the sentences anyway.

I’m about a month into my job, two more to go and then I’m out of my probationary period. I think I get a raise when that happens, and the attendance policy also softens. In the first 90 days you basically can only miss two days of work and be fine, unless you call in multiple days in a row for the same thing. Seems like I’ve got the basics down, but I want to be faster. I want to be the best at what I do. Not because I want to have a career in the medical field, rather just because I can.

I’ve been a little more proactive with my site, I’m starting to write articles again. My camera inexplicably works again, so I’ve got some ideas for some videos. I’ve been slacking on playing bass, but I’ll get around to that. I have legitimately been fairly busy lately, so I haven’t had a lot of free time after school, work, homework and donating plasma.

Can’t think of much else. I have to be at work at 7 in the morning tomorrow for the mandatory monthly meeting, which definitely clashes with my recent late night-ish lifestyle. I suppose if I’m updating every day this month, short entries like this are acceptable 😛

Anyway, here are a couple links to my site. The first is an article I did basically summing up my feelings on Apple products and the recent reaction to the death of Steve Jobs. The second is one that my friend who runs the site with me did, a sarcastic Halloween video starting out our Tips For Failure series, which is basically about giving horrible advice to guarantee failure. They’re not for everyone, and my writing style is definitely different there, but, uh, it’s my site, so go to it please? Yeah, that works 😛

Ahh, I had no plans for the first time ever this halloween! I had a presentation to do that night in class, 7-945 so I was there all night anyway. We both have to be on the lease. The lease can be in his name, but my name would be “second” so I am still listed on it he’s just the primary renter or some crap that she said. But what I’m going to do is say most of the bills need to be in his name.

And he hasn’t met with the lawyer yet because he has to be able to pay the fee up front before the lawyer will do anything for him, then I’ve heard it could take up to a year before the bankruptcy could be finalized. So I don’t think it will affect us right away. I need a better understanding of the “automatic stay” law… so I figure when he meets this lawyer I will tell him that he needs to

ask him that stuff. The other option is putting the lease in my name first, the problem with that is I do not make enough for them to give it to me. So then we’d both have to be equal on the lease, so whatever I guess. I am more concerned with the “co-mingling” aspect… If he is living with me, then he is entitled to half which means a bank could come after me and seize my things, liquidate

to pay off his debt. That’s why the townhouse became an issue for me. Because in the eyes of the bankruptcy laws, we are living together so half is his and half is mine. Even though we aren’t married. On the up side, no matter what he can’t bring my credit into this because a. we aren’t married, and b. the things that attribute to his debt have nothing to do with me, it’s all him and his

ex wife. Which is funny because she apparently makes 65,000/yr and has this nice size house where she pays 1300/mo … well, when they see that coupled with his bankruptcy papers… they’ll go after her before cancelling his debts. She could end up owing them money because she actually has the money to give. The whole thing is crazy! But as long as I’m in the clear… we’re golden. haha

Oh and I had even read that it’s a good idea to include past bankruptcies in a prenup. Just so it’s documented in case something in the future comes up…. Basically, my debt is mine, your debt is yours. I will not pay your debt, you will not pay my debt. I wonder how willing he’d be to sign that document!!! lol
