mindfulness
I’m supposed to be studying and practicing mindfulness this week as my homework therapy. Most of what I’ve found on the internet is the same old dumb stuff. I’m probably in the wrong frame of mind to do this, but this is the help I can get so I had better use it.
The best mindfulness resource I have is a mind yeti subscription. I use this with my kids. It’s mindfulness meditation for kids. We use it at night before bed. It helps me feel a little relaxed which is good in the sense that when we use it it helps me sleep a little. I hope this isn’t as good as it gets though because i don’t see this making lasting change. And 99% of the crap online is just trying to sell me garbage.
When I was a child I was told to be mindful of others. I was to mind. I knew what it meant and it had nothing to do with making a purchase. But it was a payment, of sorts. I was required to pay attention and pay respect. Better to say, be attentive and be respectful.
@elcreature Wise words, friend. Thanks.

found you on the front page. try some googling for mindfulness from a DBT perspective. (dialectical behavioural therapy) i found it slightly less wishy-washy than other types of mindfulness. it can take quite a while to develop the habit, but it’s totally worth the effort. it really can make a difference.
@pantheress Ah, thank you so much. I’ll check into that. Knowing what to google is half the battle, right?
@apexbloom indeed it is. my mom somehow has the strongest google-fu out of everyone i know. she always knows what/how to google. i’m too used to the old way, with the boolean operators.

I wonder if Yoga or Tia Chi would be just as good?
@jaythesmartone Maybe.
