First days of summer

“You have the combined IQ of a pot of tea and a plate of scones”

“what about the cucumber sandwiches?”

“No, They can beat you at Sudoku”

Its got to be the first proper day of summer or something. Driving past the wreckage of another 5 car pile up on the M4 today, The outside temperature guage was reading “29oC” The traffic wombles in their dayglo orange-yellow-white Landcruisers were having kittens, but they were on the scene pretty swiftly and it looked like no one was hurt, So thats Okay.

The M4 was also littered with Rolls Royce’s Silver Wraiths if I wasn’t mistaken, 1 was broken down, but the rest of them were gliding around quite serenely. How nice.

Although I had a very large and very nice paycheque last month, due some administrative hiccups and the time of the year, the one for the end of this month is going to be miniscule. literally I will be living on peanuts an instant noodles for the next 60 days. Well, maybe not the peanuts.

Need to get Kylie Taxed up for the rest of year, Methinks a 6 month tax disc will do. £99? The sister is finally learning to drive and has been asking if she can take over ownership. Frankly the car is good for another 100,000 miles, so why not! Need to get the wiper motor replaced but I think that can wait a few months 🙂

blazingly busy over the past 4 weeks, This talk of a global credit crunch seems to be just that “talk” Most people I’ve talked to who are “tightening their belts” are simply doing so because they’ve read that their is a global credit crunch in the Daily Mail… Talking yourself into financial ruin? Yep, that seems to be the way things are going! Just calm down everyone! 😀

Its warm. Too warm? or just hot?
Either way, the air conditioning unit sat humming away in the corner like a sci-fi film prop will make the summer more bearable. Although in reality its probably going to freeze over next week or something..

Was supposed to be going over to italy for an all expenses paid italian wedding of a long time family friend, Wasn’t able to secure the time off from work which was a real shame. it would have been good to see everyone over in Tuscany, its been about 10 years! Oh well, maybe next time. 🙁

Terminal 5 is an interesting place, had to pop over their this week to see my cousin back home, The Carluccios there is actually one of the best, but overall its a very boring airport terminal. Sure, I was only wandering about the landside end making “TSCH!” noises and sucking air through my clenched teeth. I’m guessing that airside it would have been nicer. but overall very dissapointing and quiet and calm and non threatening and non-eventful. a complete lack of soul..
Which I guess is what they wanted
?
still, anythings better then having to use Terminal 1 at heathrow which is about the size of your local newsagents in comparison.

Although won’t be going to italy, Did finally get into the italian restaurant down the road which I haven’t managed to get a table at for the last 10 years!!!! it seems its all about the decades this week. Actually, it was great. I fully understand why that place was fully booked up all of the time. great food, funky service, dissapointing desserts, but great coffee.

hmm.

Actually I’ve been to a lot of restaurants in the past few weeks. Ended up in the Persian restaurant in Richmond, All brilliant, except for the Doogh. which. eerm. was.
It’s a buttermilk carbonated drink that tastes like beer but is non alcoholic.
I’ll leave it at that. ergh.
Going back there but next time, NO DOOGH!

This evening I am busier then a a very busy thing, and next week? well, its just going to be headless chicken time. Looking forward to it actually but I think I’m going to be looking forward to next weekend!!!

RYN: Actually I don’t know if there’s anything in Guam besides the base. I just figured there must be something outside the base, it can’t be just military people there. Or can it…? Americans are taking over the world anyways, so I wouldn’t wonder if it was only those damn Yankees there… *sigh* Oh wow, look what I found! http://visitguam.org/main/

May 12, 2008

Oh, forgot to say that there’s also a naval base in Guam, in addition to the air base. Joe was *this* close to being stationed there. Then they decided to send him to Italy. And now, whaddya know, we’re as close to Guam as we can get without actually being there, hehehe!! 😉
