Business Trip

Thursday night I called my sister and asked her to cover my rent for April.  My hydro bill was due on March 29th and is still sitting, unpaid, on my fridge.  I haven’t gone in to check my cell phone debt because all I know now is that they’re not cutting it off, which is all I need to know.

I haven’t worked in about a month now, and that’s any kind of work at all.  I’ve been job hunting for weeks, and all I’ve gotten out of it so far is an interview where I was only asked two questions:
"How old are you?"  (a question that’s illegal to ask under BC employment law) and
"Do you have a driver’s licence?"
That’s it.  Now, even if I am hired for this job, what kind of credibility has my boss just created for himself?  Zilch.

A fellow sex industry worker approached me with a unique proposition yesterday:  heading up to Whistler (North America’s largest ski resort) for a weekend and doing a combo of agency and independent work.  The agency is based out of Vancouver, so the boss can’t keep tabs on you, plus they provide accomodation.  All clients are tourists who are unfamiliar with the area and are staying, for the most part, in hotel rooms.  Plus, I’d be up there with a friend, so we’d be able to watch each other’s backs.

We’re going to go talk to the agency and if it all works out then we’re planning to go next weekend.

I’m already thinking about which outfits I’ll be bringing with me.

oh god i know the agony of job hunting and its not pretty! i’ve been out of work since 10 February! and i can bearly make rent this month- i feel constantly stressed. i’ve been reduced to doing crummy part time jobs that pay minimum wage & i get treated like a piece of shit! i really hope things get better for you, & if you go on that weekend, i hope you not only make some money, but have some fun

Best of luck to you, hon. *Hugs*

ryn: Yeah, another person left me a private note with a web address about BV. I had never heard of it before, so that’s why I looked so baffled when my gyno said it. My first gyno was a man and I complained to my mom that I wanted a woman instead. Then she got me this one and now I’d prefer the man again. At least he didn’t try to run out the door when I started asking questions.
