Contraceptives
Today’s blog entry is sure to offend someone, so let’s see how tolerant liberals really are when it comes to free expression: I agree with Rush Limbaugh and Patricia Heaton on this one, the young woman in this case really is a slut, a whore, a strumpet, a woman of loose morals. If she wants her Catholic college to pay for her contraceptives, then she is a slut. Limbaugh and Heaton should not have apologized; they should have stuck to their guns. I don’t oppose contraceptives, though I prefer that they be used by married couples instead of fornicators, but as it stands, people should pay for their own contraceptives, mature adults take responsibility for themselves, and as such they should take responsibility for their own sex lives. Responsible adults don’t expect others to pay for their responsibilities. If you want to use contraception, pay for it yourself; don’t expect your workplace to pay for them. If you can’t afford contraception at this time, then abstinence and/or celibacy until you can pay for them are the most responsible thing.
And while I don’t fully agree with the Roman Catholic Church on contraception, they should not have to pay for something that they don’t agree with.
…she is married. And the friend she was talking about was a lesbian who needed birth control for her cysts. Also, having sex is nothing to be ashamed about. I am nineteen, unmarried, and have sex all the time for free. 😀

I don’t share the same view on contraceptives as you do but I seriously f*cking love this entry!!! The above noter is an ass… she claims to be a Christian yet things it’s okay to have sex outside of marriage. She clearly just likes to think of herself as a Christian without actually living the laws of the bible. What a dumbass… F.x

Contraception is used a lot for medical issues such as endometriosis. It isn’t just about sex.

So calling me a dumbass is Christian-like?

What about viagra? Is it okay if married couples use that? You realise also that when contraception is covered by insurance people still have to pay for it, right? Same as viagra and heart medication and chemotherapy. Also, if you’re a Christian, aren’t you overstepping the mark by ‘preferring’ only married couples to use contraception? What happened to judge not lest ye be judged?

Interesting, NONE of the news articles about this mentioned her being married. And while contraceptives may be for more than birth control I stick by my statement that people should pay for their own contraception.

Also I believe in sex but God created sex for marriage, that this is the 21st century is irrelevent, fornication is still wrong. God is a God of love but also a God of order.

Stating what is moral and what is not moral is not judging, in the sense that Jesus spoke of it, only God has the right to pass judgement on people but for morality to exist we must judge actions otherwise there is moral anarchy.

Viagra is not a contraceptive, and while it is good for married couples to be able to deal with erectile dysfunction I don’t trust most pharmaceutical drugs (see my entry “antidrug rant) too many dire side effects, and i am not overstating the case for that.

I feel so, so sorry for every woman in America who doesn’t believe in “God”. Watching the conservative campaign against women’s rights is making me sick, and I very much hope that every woman of voting age who values their reproductive rights votes against the morons who are trying so hard to take those rights away. Do you also agree with Terry England that women who experience a miscarriage after20 weeks of pregnancy should have to carry the DEAD fetus to term? I respect that you obviously subscribe to a different belief system than I. But calling someone who has sex and isn’t married a slut is just judgmental and wrong. Contraception should be made readily available to all women, not only those who have signed piece of paper.

As I said, I don’t oppose contraception I just think responsible adults should pay for it themselves.
