1: Write something basic about yourself
I’m shy and afraid of relationships.
2: ten likes and dislikes
Likes: science fiction and fantasy, reading, writing, sleeping, playing video games, cats, the ocean, rain, listening to music, daydreaming
Dislikes: Spiders, rudeness, being really hot or really cold, getting up early, mushrooms, having to go to bed at night, bills, headaches, that time of the month, customer service
3: the meaning behind your Open Diary name
It was a mashup that started as a melding of my first and last names. It morphed into Lindella because Lindella sounds more like it could be an actual name than the one I had originally created. It stuck with me after that.
4: Your day in great detail
I woke up this morning at about 7:15, with 45 minutes before my alarm went off, I dozed for a bit, then set my alarm ahead ten minutes for the hell of it. Got up at 8:10, took a shower, brushed my teeth, combed my hair, got dressed, fed the cat, left the house and got in the car at 9:16 which is one minute late. Took twenty minutes to drive to work, clocked in at 9:35 (I did not eat breakfast). Spent fifteen minutes getting coffee and dinking around on the computer before logging onto the phone and taking four calls. After the fourth call I decided that our department needed an updated phone list. Spend the next two hours compiling a new list and sending it around to be looked at by co-workers. Handed it to the boss man, went on my first break. Got back from break very unwilling to take more calls, but did anyway. After a bit, logged off phones for a bit because I decided I needed to organize my desk and update the information in my binder (phone numbers, extensions, directions, policies, blah blah). Went ot lunch at 1:37, went to Subway to get a foot long Veggie Delight on Italian Herb and Cheese (mayo, mustard, lettuce, spinnach, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, olives, a little pepper) with an iced tea and a small bag of Sun Chips (NOM!). Had fifteen minutes left on lunch, spend it creeping Twitter on my phone. Went back to work at 2:07, finished organizing my binder and typing up new information sheets. Now, sitting on OpenDiary, bored out of my mind, 4:28pm. One and a half hours left of work.
5: Five places you want to visit and why
A. England, because I have always loved England, and the United Kingdom in general. It seems like such a beautiful place that could be both familiar and completely new.
B. China, because of those ridiculously magnificent mountains. I want to see them for myself. Also, it is a communist coutry and I am very interested in how that effects their way of life. I wish to learn about it.
C. Japan. I can give you no other reason but that it’s Japan.
D. Australia/New Zealand. Because I have always thought of both of those countries as very beautiful, and…Lord of the Rings.
E. Norway. Because Norse Mythology.
6: What band/musician is most important to you
Most important? I suppose that would be News From The Front, my cousin’s band. I don’t like punk music by I really respect how much work goes in to having an active band and I support their efforts one hundred percent. As far as bands and musicians that I just listen to in general? I don’t really care. I like music if it’s good.
7: Do you read? What is your favorite book?
Uh….Yes. Yes I do. I cannot give you just one favorite book, but here are some: Lord of the Rings, Ender’s Game, Dune, A Song of Ice and Fire, Sherlock Holmes, The Wheel of Time, Riftwar Saga, Pride and Prejudice (I wholeheartedly admit that I’m in love with Mr. Darcy), Inheritance Cycle, Dragonriders of Pern, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, etc., etc., etc..
8: Pet peeves
PEOPLE WHO MAKE DIGUSTING NOISES IN THE THEATER! >:C
And my younger cousin’s girlfriend.
9: If you could live off of one food and beverage for the rest of your days, what would they be?
I couldn’t I don’t think. No matter how good a food is, if you eat it enough of it you will grow to hate it. I can’t imagine eating just one food for the rest of my life.
10: Picture on your desktop
A large picture of NGC 1300, a spiral galazy I used as the map for a science fiction story I made up.
11: What is your favorite quote?
"…On a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam." That’s just the end of the quote, which is by Carl Sagan.
12: Your current relationship. If single, discuss how single life is
Yes, single, and it’s more or less amazing. I was in a very invested six year relationship until a little under two years ago. It was really frightening when we first broke up, but after I realized my life wasn’t at an end, I couldn’t believe I’d stuck with him as long as I had. I have never been happier in my life!

14: Things you want to say to an ex
A. You were a good boyfriend when I was 19 years old, but I can’t imagine how I ever justified the idea of spending the rest of my life with you.
B. I really want to punch you in the face.
C. If I were a less honorable person, I would take all your money and close your account and leave you stranded because I think you deserve it. Luckily for you, I am very foolish and far too nice a person.
D. I hate the fact that I’m judemental about it, but it disgusts me that your new girlfriend is seven years younger than you.
15 – Someone you fancy at the moment
He shall remain unnamed in all ways except that we used to be roommates for a short time.
16 – If the world were to end tomorrow, what would you do with your remaining time on earth?
I would take all my money, buy some foods, fill up the tank and drive northeast.. I’ve seen far too little of the world and that would be my last-ditch effort. I know, I’m a terrible person for not thinking of family first.
17 – What do you want to be when you get older?
Currently I’m trying to be a writer, a pilot, and an archer. I don’t know if that will change down the line.
18 – Name the tv show(s) you have become addicted to
A. Heroes, on and off
B. Dr. Who!
C. Miss Marple (I only watch it when no one else is in the house though because I feel like it’s an old lady show).
D. Sherlock (I also have a secret fangirl crush on Benedict Cumberbatch)
19 – The best thing to happen to you this week
I got a raise at work! It made me hate my job just a tiny bit less because I thought we were in a total pay freeze, but that doesn’t include grade changes. I levelled up!
20 – Your definition of love
This is a stupid, unpleasant question, but I will answer it as I currently stand. Love is a combination of emotions and experiences that connect one person to another in such a way that the person comes to base his or her fundamental well being on the other person. However, love is also something that cannot be garanteed to last forever, however much we might delude ourselves to the contrary. It can be painful and destructive and blinding, and above all it can leave a person wallowing in a sense of betrayal, because that person’s idea of what love should be has been shattered. Strangely enough, even when such is the case, love is a thing we still crave because every person wants that feeling of being known. Of being cherished and adored despite one’s faults. This is possible. I’ve been in love. I know what it’s like to have someone know everything there is to know about me and even though I have suffered a great deal because of it, I miss that feeling so, so much and I know I will eventually risk the pain in order to find that someone again.
21 – What kind of person attracts you
Currently: glasses, dark hair, nerdiness, and a goofy nature.
22 – what you wore today
Blue jeans with a small hole in the right knee (oooh I’m a dress code rebel!), black flats, and a blue wide-neck cotton shirt. over a black tank top. Also, 12 gauge earrings. I’ll get them up to 6 gauge eventually.
23 – A letter to someone. Anyone.
This is not something I have the time for right now.
24 – Would you rather date someone plain with an amazing personality or someone beautiful with a plain personality?
If someone is simply plain, an amazing personality can make him absolutely gorgeous.
25 – Seven things that cross your mind a lot
A. How frustrated I get when I think about the things I have planned starting next month. I want to start them now!
B. How uncomfortable I sometimes get around one of my roommates. I think he’s fond of me, but I don’t feel the same way amd I dread that confrontation.
C. Things I need to add to the new map of my world.
D. How cool it’s going to be to have a pilot’s license.
E. I’m so glad I don’t work Saturday!
F. I need to exercise more.
G. The myriad quirky reasons why I love crappy movies.
26 – How you hope your future will be like
All I hope for in any solid sense is some measure of independence.
27 – A picture of your handwriting
No.
28 – Do you wish for anything at 11:11? If so, what do you wish for
I did, but it’s a secret.
29 – Picture of yourself
No.
30 – Anything you want to post
Fifteen minutes, and it will be the weekend. Tonight is probably going to be a really good night.
Also, this quiz was supposed to be a one-per-day deal. I did it because I was so epically bored.
Ooh, I must steal this! I live in England! Really want to go to Norway, too. Norse Mythology ♥ Guys with long dark hair, yes please!
Warning Comment
Geez. I don’t know how you couldn’t list the pyramids as a place you’d want to visit. As a nerdy guy, I would love to visit all the places you had mentioned plus a few others. Nepal, Egypt, the Galapagos Islands and really really want to go to New Zealand to see the hobbit houses. I’d be content to retire in one drinking mead and getting fat haha. After years of world travel of course.
