Like Sand In An Hourglass…

After I wrote yesterday’s entry, I got a call from my bestest friend Shelby. She lives in Austin and we talked for almost an hour. We made plans for her to come back to town when the Renaissance Festival starts up again, which is, coincidentally, on October 1st. They will be celebrating their 31st year…as will I. The weekend of my birthday, I’m going to Austin to celebrate with Shelby and my sister and then she’s coming back and staying with me a couple weekends later. We have so much fun together. She the only one who completely understands my humor. When I say that my birthday is 9 months after New Year’s, she laughs because she understands why it’s funny without having to ponder it. I love her.

After I spoke to Shelby, my sister Jen called me as well. She lives in Austin, too. Growing up, Shelby and Jen never really got along. Jen belonged to the Popular Clique® and Shelby and I were in the Loners® group. We lived next door to each other and Jen’s friends would harrass Shelby really bad. Her parents wouldn’t allow her to fight and everyone knew this so they felt safe teasing her. I, on the other hand, had no problems pummeling any shit head that crossed me — boy or girl — so they never said anything while I was around. But I digress. Jen called me because she wanted to get ahold of Shelby so they could hang out. That shocked the hell outta me. I didn’t think she liked Shelby. But I called Shelby back and she gave me the ok to give out her number. I hope they get along. I’d hate for there to be a fight at my birthday party.

In other news, I joined Netflix. I got tired of spending all my money at Hollywood Video for all my late movies, so I joined. So far, I’m impressed. I’ve got about 60+ movies in my queue to get sent out to me, so I should be set for a long while. Joe has found a few movies he’d like to see and added them to the queue, but put them at the top of the list and bumped some that I really wanted to see down. Guess I’ll be needing to change my password… hehehe
