Competitive Laziness…

Monday through Friday, I get up at 6 in the morning.  I hate it.  I am not a morning person.  So when the weekend comes, I like to stay in bed until around 9 or 10.  I may wake up at 8 but I lay in bed and wrap myself up in my blanket like a human burrito with the fan blowing on my face.  Joe normally gets up at 7:30 every day, so on the weekends, he is the one who normally lets the dogs out of their kennel and puts them outside.  Lately, though, he’s been sleeping in, so around 8ish, the dogs are "talking" to us, trying to wake someone up to let them out.  I know he’s awake.  He has a deviated septum and I can hear his breathing.  But he just lays there, pretending to be asleep and hoping I’ll get up.  I can’t let him think he’s got the upper hand so I roll over and put my head under a pillow and add a very soft and faint snore.  He procedes to lay on his back and puts the blanket over his face (I can still hear that he’s awake).  I slow my breathing and snore just a tad bit louder, but not enough to where it sounds fake.  He now adds his own fake snore.  During all this, the poor dogs are whimpering in their kennel.  I can’t take it any more.  He wins.  I sit up in bed and shake him.  I tell him to let the dogs out, then roll over and wrap myself up like a human burrito and face the fan…
