New Man (ME!!!) / Dream
we’re reading "Frankenstein" in English and before we begin work on our research paper he split us up into groups to research different social aspects introduced in the book and present them to the class. well, my group presented the "New Woman". i wasn’t in class the whole week leading up to the presentation and i found out about it two days before we had to do it. I ssmashed that thing, i was the best in my group. anyway, that explains the title of my entry. this is about the "New Me", actually its who i should have always been, but refused to be because of people and some other things i dont wanna talk about right now (too emotional for this early in the morning).
ok, so first let me apologize to a certain person and also thank you. it was when you commented on my post that is no longer up (just in case you didnt notice) that i realized i had let this "fake" me control, consume, and become me (in a sense). that was the begining of my steps to becoming this "New Me". After that i had upset someone else who was becoming important to my life (even though they weren’t suppose to be that important). when i did that then i had another wake up call. the final piece to the puzzle is my friend (he truly is s friend, because a friend will tell you the truth even if it hurts) "W" (i mentioned him before). he and i were talking and discussing things and he helped me realized that there is more to me and my life then what i have become and settled for.
we were talking and he gave me this book "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkinson. A MUST READ!!!
anyway, back to my subject. i’m only 1/4 of the way through the book and it has already caused so much change in my life and the way i look at life and things. it truly is a great book, i light up and fill with joy just thinking about reading this book after i finish this entry. yea, this book truly is a blessing to my life.
then yesterday to top it all off, in chapel service (yea, my school has mandatory chapel every tues. and thurs.) the speaker "drove the nail through the coffin". he was talking about being a thermometer or thermostat christian. but it applies to life in general for those of you that may not believe or are struggling with wat you believe.
you see a thermometer adjust or changes according to the temperature or its surroundings. this type of person is easily influenced and pressured into things and ways of thinking and acting based on those around them. this person is a follower. you act one way with one person or group of friends and another way around a different person or group.
then the thermostat is the type of person that sets the temperature of their environment. this person stands their ground, they are the influencer or leader usually. this type of person says this is who i am so you either except or leave. this person doesnt have to try to be something its not around people.
some people think they’re thermostats and they’re really thermometers and vice-versa. if you really take some time and be honest with yourself and look inside yourself. you’ll figure out which one you are. then you have to decide which one you want to be.
back to the book. the intro to the book says… "Everyone has a dream! you may not be able to describe it. you may have forgotten it. you may even no longer belive in it. but its there." we are all born with a dream or something we were put here to accomplish and we wont ever truly be happy or have joy (because there is a difference between happiness and joy) until we do that thing.
(when i say dream, its not refering to love, relationships, people, or things of that nature. we’re talking about what it is you are here to do to impact the world and those around you)*side note*
your life, choices, decisions, and dream affect not only you and your life, but all life. everything you say and do effect us all. no matter if its right or wrong, good or bad. people are watching you and depending on you to make it, to help or encourage them so that they can make it. doesn’t matter if you know it, believe it, except it, or want that kind of responsibility. it is what it is and there’s nothing you can do about it. back to the story, a brief and i do mean brief intro… "Meet Ordinary (thats the characters name), a Nobody (or at least he feels like one) who lives in the Land of Familiar and decides to leave to persue his Big Dream. Once the Dream Giver convinces Ordinary to escape his Comfort Zone, Ordinary begins the journey of his life; overcoming Borer Bullies, navigating the Waste Land, and battling the fierce Giants in the Land".
this book will truly inspire, i am so sure of it.
now, back to the subject at hand, the "New Me". thankst o all of these events i have finally decided to become a thermostat, and just be myself, and find my Dream. thank you to everyone who has impacted, inspired, and imparted into my life to get me to this point. i truly appreciate you, more than you will ever know.
ya’ll be good, be encouraged, thank you for reading, and no matter what… NEVER STOP PRAYING or chasing your dream
im really proud of you. I know it takes a lot of strength to do that, i just hope you stick with it. =] be good, and smile okay? just always remember that life is only as good as YOU make it. <333333
