The Results

(I’m post-dating this, since I menat to write it ages ago, but it didn’t happen, but I wanted to stick it in here before I wrote everything else!)

So three weeks ago, I weighed 262, I’ve been on the South Beach diet for the last 2 weeks, and this morning I weighed 249.  Yup, I lost 13 pounds.  I can hardley believe it myself.  I didn’t even exercise!  Not that I reccommend not exercising, I kept meaning to bust out my walk away the pounds tapes, it just never happened.  It is really amazing though to think that the diet made that much of a differance without exercise.  I mean just think what wouls happen if I worked out AND ate that well!

I never thought I’d be saying this, but this diet is amazing. Not only because of the weight loss, but because it was really fairly easy. There’s no specific meal plan to follow, no calories or anything to count, nothing crazy or unusual to eat or buy! Not only that, but I never felt really hungry, and I really feel that I’m so much healthier now. Oh, and I really feel inspired to keep eating healthy. I’ve spent the last two weeks talking myself out of crappy food, and now I don’t even feel like I have to talk myself out of it, I just don’t want it any more.

It makes it easier too that I can have fruit and grains now. Though basically, I’m going to stick to the first phase as much as possible, probably with a little fruit thrown in with breakfast and lunch, an occasional sandwich, and then for dinner I can throw in some pasta occasionally. I figure I’ll eat like that as much as possible, then when Luke and I go out for dinner I don’t have to worry so much about what I’m eating. That whole idea of doing good 80% of the time so you don’t have to worry about the other 20% of the time.
