Speed. (Edited)

“I’m tired of spinning my wheels.  I need to find a place where my heart can go to heal.  I need to get there pretty quick…Throw me them keys so I can put some miles between us.  Tear off that rearview mirror, there’s nothing left to see here.  Let me lean on that gas–aww she catches up fast.  So give me speed.  How fast will it go? Can it get me over her quickly?  Zero to sixty? Can it outrun her memory?  What I really need, is an open road, and a whole of speed.”  -Montgomery Gentry, Speed.

I’ve got a soundtrack of songs in my head for when I want to road trip and speed to my destination.  This soundtrack will be full effect next week when I’m attempting to get across Western Nebraska.  Thought I’d share it with you all and see what you think.  Suggestions for additions are welcome.  Keep in mind here, I’m not talking reflection, I’m talking songs that make you want to drive faster.

1.  Montgomery Gentry, Speed.  The quintessential long road trip song.

2.  Teenage Wasteland, The Who.

3.  Born to Run, Bruce Springsteen

4.  Extreme Ways, Moby

5.  My Luck Is Wasted, Big Wreck

6.  Interstate Love Song, Stone Temple Pilots

7.  Take it to the Limit, The Eagles

8.  Camera One, Josh Joplin Group

9.  Running on Ice, Vertical Horizon

10.  Everything You Want, Vertical Horizon

11.  I’m Still Here, Vertical Horizon (just in general I listen to Vertical Horizon when I want to speed.)

12.  Quasimodo, Lifehouse

13.  Kick out the Jams, Monster Magnet

18.  Run, Collective Soul

19.  Ants Marching, Dave Matthews Band

20.  Hey Girl, O.A.R.

There are others, but this should get us started.  Any comments? Songs you can’t believe I didn’t include?  Hit me with a quick note.  Peace folks.
