Things of sorts and such

I probably won’t be posting much over the next few weeks with finals being all scary and impending.  Either that, or I’ll be posting more to procrastinate, which is much more likely.

I found this super-awesome recipe for a rainbow cake.  I think I might make it for my birthday party, except I’d make it an ice cream cake.  And, then I could leave the cake blank and let everyone at my party decorate it however they want.  I’d have to make sure it’s extra frozen first, but it could work.  I think I’m gonna do it.  It’ll be so awesome!  I’ll take lots of pictures, of course.  Did I mention that I’m going to be serving Indian butter chicken and lasagna for dinner for the party, as well?  Well, I am.  It’ll be a delicious good time.  I’m also planning on making rainbow and margarita jello shots…and, deviled eggs.  And, I’m intrigued after discovering this, so I may just have to pick up a bottle.  Has anyone tried it, and if so, how was it?

Tomorrow, there’s a mandatory meeting at school I’m really excited about.  People from the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) are coming for a site visit in January to check up on Ross’s progress with meeting/improving the criteria it needs to become accredited.  From what I’ve heard, this is basically the final step in the accreditation process.  We’re supposed to find out within a few months after the visit if we’ve been AVMA accredited.  If we are, Ross will be the first Caribbean veterinary school to do so.  And, it would be just before my class would be taking the PAVE (a qualifying exam allowing the ability to practice in most US states…after you also take the boards, of course).  I’d have to study for the exam either way, since we probably wouldn’t find out until later in the semester, but if I end up not having to take it, I’ll double-win.  Not only will it eliminate the stress of passing the exam, but I will have reviewed most of or everything I’ve learned, which will help me out a lot with future semesters.

Tomorrow is also Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is probably just about equal with Halloween in the favorite holiday category, because it’s full of deliciousness.  And, I won’t be celebrating it.  Instead, I’ll be sitting alone in my apartment typing up pharmacology notes.  Oh!  I just realized that I do have a box of stuffing.  What are the odds??  My mom bought it for me when she went on a crazy shopping spree while here when I first moved from my on campus dorm to my apartment.  Thanks, mom.  And, I have chicken.  Only chicken tenderloins, but chicken.  I think I’ll make myself some chicken and stuffing.  And, maybe cupcakes.  It’s something.  It’s slightly less depressing than I originally thought….just slightly.  And, maybe I’ll even watch some TV while I eat.  I think I’ve only watched TV once or twice this semester.  It’s sad.  I also have only gone out once, this semester, not counting food-buying excursions, which is even so much sadder (I saw Harry Potter 7A – good stuff).  On the other hand, I’ve saved a lot of money…most of which will probably be used during break.  I haven’t even bought anything from the cafe on campus, this semester.  I’m planning on getting something tasty (including, most definitely, either a cotton candy or caramal latte chiller) as soon as I finish my last final as a reward, though.  Anyone who survives that hell deserves a feast fit for kings, but only the kings that have good taste in food; let’s clarify that.

WoW:  Cataclysm is coming out on the 7th, and it’s not fair.  I’m debating over whether to buy it just to have it for when I finally do have time to play or just wait, in which case, at least it would probably drop in price, later on.  The more logical thing would probably just be to wait.  Sad panda, though.

And, now it’s time for sleep, or so I claim..  I heart you guys, and I hope you all have a lovely Food Coma Day (alternatively, Fooditis Day). =p

That cake is gorgeous! Your party sounds like it will be so yummy and fun! I’ve never tried the sparkling vodka but I highly recommend getting alcoholic whipped cream for the jello shots. That stuff is so amusing! Happy Food Coma Day to you, too! Make yourself some tasty eats!
