God-bothering etiquette

Stelthe asks a rather challenging question tonight:

If you could meet any Deity/Entity, which would you choose and why? (And not the obvious two!)

Part of the challenge with this question is that if there’s a deity or entity I want to meet, I go look them up. I’ve learned techniques for doing just that over the years. They’re not always successful, and sometimes you get surprising results (like the night I went to meet with Thor and got shuffled into the presence of a rather impatient Odin instead). So the fact that Stelthe has already excluded the two deities that I’m generally interested in talking with puts me at a bit of a quandary.

I suppose that there have been occasions where I’ve thought it might be nice to talk to that Jesus fellow — and even the whole Christian Trinity — though not enough to actually go through with bothering them. (As a rule, I think that bugging a deity should be done with careful consideration and thoughtful purpose, and my purposes for contacting the Christian Godhead simply wouldn’t amount to a justifiable reason to go ahead and do it.) I’d like to ask Jesus about his intended message for his followers and how it compares to what various Christians do and proclaim in his name. I’d also be tempted to ask him if the rest of us get any “bonus points” from him for putting up with some of his more….colorful self-appointed representatives here on earth. I think it would be an interesting conversation, really.

Methinks that middle eastern fellow would be downright horrified at the behaviors which people justify by invoking this name. You thought he was upset by the money changers? Oh boy!

I heart that Jesus guy. He’s pretty cool. If you felt like looking him up, you really just should. He’s always open for the equivilant of a beer and a conversation, from pretty much anyone. In my experience. YMMV. 😉 Flowers… @};-

LOL, I know it’s probably out of character to laugh at this. But I think the one’s within the subculture should get even more points (if you get points too) for cleaning up the messes of our more colorful counterparts. All in jest.

You are lucky I have so far run out of things to ask. 😛
