The Proposal Story!!

Ok….we need some background before we start:
  
We always watch, and just love this show, called How I Met Your Mother. For those of you who dont watch, its a story about one of the main characters finding true love. The episodes are supposed to be flashbacks, and this guy is telling his kids how he met their mother…Its a really cute show, and we think it should be right up there in popularity with Friends, so if you dont watch…. Start!! haha
 
Ok… background number 2…. a few years ago, not long after we met actually, The boy wrote me a funny/cute story about how we met. He made it funny/cute by using those animated emoticon things that ya could use in hotmail a few years ago…

Ok, now on to the day… lol
 
 It was almost 3months ago…(wow, already!)  Wed April 16th and I had just gotten home from working a HORRIBLE dayshift!! So I go home and the boys sittin on the couch. I join him. We ask each other how our days went. la te da… He  tells me that he made a video today…. We’re always saying that we need to use the video camera more, (dont get dirty now ya pervs! lol) so I just assumed that he had taped the dogs doing stupid stuff or whatever! So he told me to come watch the tape he made because it was all set up and waiting… I went to pee first, then off to watch the video….

 I got all cumfy on the bed and he plays the video. It starts off with him taping himself, and he says something about how this video can be seen by our kid or kids in the future and this is the story of "how I met your mother" he said…. So the video goes to him flipping thru pictures of us over the years, and the music to the show playing in the background…. Awwww 
 
 Next, he uses the camera to read the story that he’d written to me a few years ago. It was funny and cute all at the same time.. So that takes a few minutes, and we’re laughing at it and whatnot… NEVER expecting whats coming next… Not in a million years…. Sooooo…..
 
  Once the story is over, I figure oh that is… That was cute… and Its something that we can add to over the years. So then he says "and thats the story of How I met your mother."

He starts talking about how good we are for each other and some more mushy stuff, then he says "and Now this is how Im going to propose to your mother!!!

AHHHH!!!

So at this point, of course I’m crying and all snotty and my eyes are all blurry… and on the tape he shows me the ring, and at the same time whips it out of a pillowcase somewhere and he’s saying more stuff on the tape… I’ll have to watch it again to see what happens at the end cuz I really still DONT know for sure… haha ….Its funny too cuz at the same time, on the tape hes telling himself "dont forget to get on one knee" and then he did.. and thats that….

And thats the story of how we got engaged!!  We set a wedding date for Oct 17/09… I wanted to get it as close to my Poppy’s birthday as possible, which is on the 14th. Plans are coming along GREAT! Everything is booked except for the cake and flowers, which I’m starting to look into now. Ahhhh, we’re having 6people standing on each side, plus the kids. I have 3 colors: chocolate brown, burnt orange, and mocha… so 2 girls will be in each color… We’ve always wanted to get married in the fall…Its such a beautiful time of year!! We’re SOOO excited!!!
