update

i think earlier i had mentioned that i received 19 parking tickets at the university of kansas. unfortunately, i must now amend that statement.

you see, when I arrived at this new campus, I had promised myself that I was gonna turn my life around and be 100% ticket-free. I was uber careful about planning where I was going to park, bringing the appropriate change, putting more than enough money in the meter, and coming back to add money if my time ran out. i didn’t engage in any ticket action for a full two weeks after arriving here!

then today i climbed out of bed on a saturday morning one or two drinks short of a hangover and 45 minutes before I had to be to a MANDATORY (in caps!) meeting on campus. The bus was out of the question at that time so I had to drive and I had to park on campus. When I got there I realized I didn’t have any change for the parking meter but I wasn’t too worried because it was a Saturday and parking is free on saturdays, right? and if not, parking inspectors certainly don’t work on saturdays. (saturday and sunday were the only days i didn’t get parking tickets at my old university).

I waltzed out of the meeting two hours later to see a pretty piece of paper an eye-jarring shade of orange adorning my front windshield. come on, really? on a saturday? at 10 am?

Oh well. I guess people never change.

Yeah we have certain lots that are still ticketed on Saturdays and Sundays, but not very many….I’ve gotten two and managed to get out of both of them 🙂

Well at Kstate, visitors are allowed to have one parking ticket written off in a 12 month period, so each time that it happened I just put down Eric’s information on the ticket and said he was visiting me…
