All Freakin’ Night

Well.  I’m finally awake, finally semi-aware, fed, and happy.

All Freakin’ Night was a lot of fun.

So.  I woke up at 3 am yesterday morning to a phone call.  I let the phone ring and when the person hung up, I finally oozed down to my living room and grabbed the phone to see who was calling.  I was kind of worried that it was some sort of emergency and whatnot, since there was no reason for anyone to call me at 3 am unless there was an emergency.  It was my little sister.  She was drunk, realy drunk, celebrating our brother’s 20th birthday, and called me in order to tell me that there were “holes in the floor of heaven” and she and her friends could see them, and then, after relaying the message a dozen times, she made me promise to tell Momma that as soon as she woke up.  I promised and she hung up.  She was still drunk when she got into work yesterday morning.  So I went back to bed and curled up to sleep.  Woke up at 8 am to a phone call from my boyfriend.  We talked for a little bit while I straightened my bedroom, figuring to get an early start on getting everything cleaned up and moved around before everyone showed up.  I got my room, my mom’s room, and my bathroom straightened out before accidently waking up Momma.  She helped me with getting everything set upstairs before we moved downstairs and worked on the kitchen and the living room.  So we got the house cleaned up and got a phone call from Michael’s mom, who was supposed to drop him and Naomi off at around 3 ish.  Instead, she was in bed with a bad double ear infection and a cold or some such, so we went and picked them up from Yelm.  We also called Maili to see if she needed a ride from Yelm to Oly, and she was out cold, finally getting some sleep.  Mom and I debated on kidnapping her and bringing her along, but decided not to brave her wrath.

Instead we picked up the podlings, brought them to my house, cooked pizza, talked and played video games.  Guppy and Matt made it about 7 and had pizza and we watched There Will Be Brawl.  Round 7:45 we walked down to the theater and got in line around 8pm for our 12am show.  And I’m glad we got there as early as we did.  As it was, we were the second group and just barely got the seats I wanted.  Maili called me at about 8:30 to tell me that she wasn’t going to be able to get a ride and to find out if I had a ride waiting for her… when I told her that there wasn’t anyone coming from Yelm who wasn’t already hanging with me, or on the way, she cursed.  I cursed too.  It took about an hour and a half but we did get her a ride.  She had her friend Jason drive her to the theater and he stayed to watch the movies too.  They got there at about 11:15 and I was panicing because I was afraid that she wasn’t going to make it before we got to head into the theater.  My worry was unfounded, she got there.

Now, that’s not to say that there wasn’t some interesting happenings in line.  I mean, we were there 4 hours early, so we had to keep ourselves occupied.  We talked to the people on either side of us, and to the people on either side of them.  We listened to music, talked about music and boobs and anything else that came to mind.  My legs and feet hurt after a while, and it was too cold to sit down on the concrete.  Oh!  My group of guys started up a Journey Sing-Along.  One of the guys had a small set of speakers for his ipod, so he set it to Don’t Stop Believing and the three boys belted the song out at the top of their lungs.  There were about a dozen or so people singing after they started.  After that, Michael set up Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” and one of the girls behind us started dancing to it.  She was wearing a bunny costume and ended up making 5 or so dollars by people slipping money in her pants.  That was fun to watch.  She looked like she was having a lot of fun.

So the movies. . .

First was Starchaser: Legend of Orin.  It was in 3D which was awesome for the first half hour or so, but ended up hurting my eyes as they tried to focus.  I ended up dozing through about half of the movie.  Watched the beginning, parts of the middle, and most of the ending.  It was an alright movie, a typical 80s epic cartoon movie.  There was a lot of heckling, which is what I go to All Freakin’ Night for.

Second movie was The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.  This was actually a really good movie, as far as bad horror movies go.  I watched 99% of it and enjoyed the hell out of it.  Although, the last 20 minutes seemed to be composed of nothing but the chick screaming and it annoyed me.

Rolling Thunder.  Yeah.  I watched maybe 30 minutes of this movie.  I watched the first 25 or so minutes, which was interesting, and the last 5 or so.  The rest of it bored me, so I dozed off and on.

Street Trash was as awesome as I thought it would be.  It was an epicly bad 80s horror movie.  Lots of T and A, a bit of full frontal nudity, awesomely bad special effects and a game of catch-the-dismembered-penis.  I think there was a plot in there somewhere too, but I wasn’t paying too much attention to that.

Nightmare on Elmstreet 2 was fun too, if only because of all the heckling that was still going on.  There were a lot of things to tease and joke about on that movie, and I think I only slept through a total of 20 minutes of it.

So yeah, I mostly made it through All Freakin’ Night.  Kevin was nice enough to help Jason ferry me, Guppy, Matt, Maili, and the podlings back to my house before going home with Bob and his friend.  Matt crashed on my couch, Mom and I shared my bed for the whole hour before she was up and moving, the podlings crashed on the floor, and Maili crashed in my mom’s room.  We were all asleep before 10:30.

When I woke up at 3, Mom was up, the podlings were waking up, Maili and Jason were gone with a note saying thanks, and Matt was off to work.  I put together food to take to Maili’s for her and Thomas and them since Mom and i made a huge meal thinking people were going to be around still.  Then we took the podlings home, dropped the food off at Maili’s and came back home.  I cooked up dinner for Mom and I, we goofed off on the computer for a bit, then she headed to bed and here I am.

Guppy told me last night that he offered his second ticket to the KISS concert to his aunt, who decided to go with him.  As much as I would have loved to go see KISS and Buckcherry, I’m so damned thankful that I didn’t go, specially since I’m exhausted and I know his aunt would love the concert more than I would.

On the plus side, Guppy and I are going to be going to Trans-Siberian Orchestra next Saturday and Airborne Toxic Event on the 9th of December.

All in all, it was a good day.  And now I’m going to pull out my NaNoWriMo and get to writing.

RYN: thanks! take your time. The pictures are mainly for my in-class presentation (and nothing else), so I don’t need them until December 1st. And thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate it. If you want, I can send yo u the section of my thesis that includes survey results and interviews (I doubt you’d want to read the whole thing!)
