we all go through trials
detours from fate
when results don’t leave us where we planned
but send us spilling down canyons of experience
(tripping over intentions)

at the bottom, the River of Karma
cleanses our wounds
carries dirt to the infinite ocean
where, slowly, it settles

into seafloor sediment:
