Did FB ruin OD for me? What about MyJuWriMo?

So I was randomly skimming thru random recent entries lately. Yeah, SKIMMING.

I felt like shit about it, everyone is dumping their hearts out and my mind is programmed for short attention span that eventually finds a small part I’m not interested in…. NEXT.

Plus, I just lose a lot of people starting with their small fonts, fonts I can’t read quickly and colors and backgrounds that just make it impossible to read. And we shouldn’t have to highlight everything we read?

Am I so used to brief statuses that I’m now writing this entry in short attention span paragraphs to try and adapt to what people might hang in there for?

I admit, there are a lot of things people write about that I don’t feel like we have anything in common, or I can’t identify with your struggles right now. I’m unemployed, so my mind starts cruise control when I get to hear about how bored YOU are for being able to at least contribute something to your bills and I don’t even want to check my mailbox anymore. I can sense the red envelopes piling up before shit deactivates. Even if I get a job, I’m looking at months of paying damn fees alone.

It’s weird, when you want a friend here, you just add them. you don’t have to wait for them to confirm. So why have bookmarks? I forgot OD rules after years of neglect. I was happy it’s still year after I lost my Myspace blog, that I trusted the entire time I was away from here. Notes from friends for years zapped away.

My earliest diary entry on this is 2/22/2004. that’s misleading because I’ve had my diary since around 1998. I don’t know why I deleted years of entries (as opposed to making them private as my early entries now are, I may have them backed up to hard drive. I’ve had this diary before I discovered myspace and before the millenium, but after I first went online, which I vaguely remember being 1996/7. I came across the receipt going thru things, I have it somewhere.

I changed a lot of my key interests. Whole different meaning after FB. I don’t do general likes on there, either. Of course people like beer and things like that, it doesn’t make sense for me to add it as a like.

I’m considering writing an entry every day for June, kind of a MyJuWriMo thing. and I may take it to 31 entries to make it interesting (June has 30 days). I’m writing a list of topics right now. If I can come up with 31 captivating as shit themes, I’ll do it. I want to keep my entries down to maybe 3/4 of a page, I usually go voerboard with runon sentences and explaining one concept to a whole diatribe, so I’ll try to hit the basic points of something.

Plus, if I’m on recent entries more, I may actually get some regular readers.

I switched back to my old name, Captain Oscar.

I have a wide monitor, that seems to be the problem. The text goes alll ttthhheee waaayyyy ooovveerrr and I get bored. I make the window narrow, I can read entries faster and they don’t seem as intimidating as they did before I discovered this. I have been skimming EVERYTHNG for 2 years with this new monitor. anyone wanna trade?
